Had my Highlift since they were first released, and like many the horrible flex from the leaf springs and the body not be the correct 1/10 scale quickly made me shelf the truck. Jump forward and after getting into the semi trucks i started looking at the ol girl and said "that would make an awesome dump truck" so here we go ( will be a somewhat slow build)

i bought what i was told a stock king hauler frame, well after starting the build yesterday i found out the previous owner cut nearly three inches off the front of the frame. So i have a new king frame coming so i can get that part all figured out. Right now i have the F350 front axle in place for mockup but im not feeling the 4x4 thing for this one...... so i might sell the highlift transmission and front axle and install a semi front axle with RC4WD R2 trans, ill see how i feel after the new chassis shows up

i have the chassis flipped just for mock up, new chassis will be mounted in the standard position just with new holes added. Im using a Tamiya Euro rear suspension system (love the five beefy springs) and the dump bed will be built by fellow member RCP57

Got screwed by a ebay seller and after some emails I got a refund and then bought a new stock king frame from JTS. I wasn't into the 4wd but after I figured out i had the rear semi axle flipped (axles were turning in different direction, only took two hours for that oops) i got her swapped on the new frame and sitting as a roller

Stock high lift f350 cab body mount bolted to the stock king hauler frame holes. I lucked out with spacing when i used the short tundra springs in the front. Wheel well centering is almost perfect and good enough for me to leave it alone. lol

Unknown Tamiya semi frame used for jig to drill new holes for rear suspension. I gotta have things identical or it will really steam me LOL, i hate it when you mess up and its offset cuz you messed up a hole location

Drilled and mounted, got the shackle angle perfect:D frame is level might add a spacer above the axle to lift the rear a little just gotta get the servos motor and trans installed and see how much the front springs sag.

Off topic here, anyone know what tires are on my truck? I got them in a trade over a year ago..... they feel like Tamiya semi rubber same hardness but they have that aggressive off road tread and scale size molded on the sidewalls?

Its been a long time but i pulled the F550 off the shelf and started to build her again. Ordered a R2 from *** Hobby from the clearance section and installed my Novak 21 turn brushless setup with seven tooth pinion. Started the steering mockup and seems like i cant find the stock semi steering mounts so im using Axial mounts and a six mm spacer unless i can get a stock semi setup? Also removed the six mm spacers from the body and digging the more natural looking ride height

For some reason even though the body mount is flat the R2 is on a slight angle. I removed and double checked and everything is flat but when I mount it its cocked up...now that its mounted I'm not liking the way the R2 is only a few mm higher than the axle centerline. The truck wont be a rock crawler but its too low for going off payment to dump rock and mulch so im gonna cut the cab mount and bend a piece of aluminum stock and lift the R2 up another ten mm maybe a little more

The R2 is ok, i had a HD version in my mud truck F350 with 2.2 and after sealing all the mounting holes with silicone it was fine. I have a 18T pinion i believe in it right now and its powerful as all heck but very slow, even with the aggressive all terrain tires locked rear axle im feeling the truck is gonna get stuck a lot with a load of dirt or rock and then add a trailer...but with all the weight it might just grunt it self through stuff. Guess im use to all my scale trucks that have wheel speed to power out of mud and hill climbs. Its also kind of noisy, and im sure its due to the large gear mesh RC4WD uses, its louder than my semi transmission's and F350 transmission
