Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Supermario-looks like you are planning a great event for next year. Should be fun!! I have a question. In this picture you posted on cooper's thread.
http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psjvxgb1tm.jpg Do they typically run the front tire pressure this low? |
Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!

One tire chain weighs over 15,000 lbs and costs about 40K but they save so much in tires. I worked there for 3 yrs, not one flat or worn out tire. I'll never forget the very first day I went down in the pit to look at my first large tire chain loader. I was walking in about 3" of super fine crushed rock dust! Anywhere these machines drive just pulverize the rock. So then they water it for dust, which then turns it into slop....ahhh, I miss those days.:D:lol: |

But, then again there's a great project to do. Dig a new ramp down just for the big beast! :bounce: What do you plan on packing btw? Need an idea of how much iron is coming and how many projects to run. Right now I'm up to 4 different tasks of digging and hauling. Pit run - 2 excavators loading 3 trucks that haul to screener......after your D11 rips up the roots to make digging easier. Screening plant - 1 loader or excavator feeding screen and 2-3 trucks hauling material to road work areas. Road work - 1 dozer and a grader or compactor. Steel plant site - lots of grass top layer I need removed by your D11 ( once done at the pit:lol:). 2 excavators or loaders loading 3 trucks which go on what I like to call a " long haul".... Haul from the very back of property all the way, 250ft , up to the front yard ditch and drop there. Loading docks - all kinds of room for cargo, forklifts and trucks with flatbeds to run around also. In a perfect world, this is what I see going on all at the same time.:bounce: |
Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
2 lowboys one hauling the kat. one drop deck. the dump trailer

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
D11, 349 excavator, siccors neck trailer, aeromax daycab, and hopefully have the bugs worked out of a 785d haul truck.

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Good point Ford otherwise you roll up the shingles and make roll roofing ! Mario I'll bring my Mack , flat bed railroad service truck ( KH) ,low boy , 45 foot flat bed trailer and if it's done a tractor (KH) maybe a couple hundred feet of portable narrow gauge railroad and a train . Can't travel without one . Mike

As long as you stay on the right side of the road, you'll be ok.......hmmm that's going to be a problem eh? No seriously, I plan on gorrillla taping all the road seams to get rid of the issue. |

Sounds great Mike! I just picked this up and could use to load rail cars. :D Just waiting for escs to arrive and will make this full RC and shoo goo the slip clutches. ;) Good to know your coming with a train. I'll be sure to keep that in mind. What kind of turn radius distance would you need to make a 90' turn btw? If we can make a backyard loop work.......You might be leaving it behind:D http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psttzvrwbl.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psnmitrufa.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psihvcwzyd.jpg |
Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Mario 10 foot minimum radius for the track . Mike

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Hey Mario.
You have no idea how much I'm Looking forward to this Event :) Thinking of bringing five trucks and ten trailers. I'm in to bridge building so if you like i'll bring some. What Hotel do you recommend ? |
Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
I'm really excited too Bo. It's going to be a great time!
2 places within a stones throw away and both offer parking right in front of rooms. Clean and affordable Holiday Motel - 705-759-8608 Howard Johnson Inn - 705-253-2327 Or , there is a brand new just built 2 years ago Marriot with pool and all the fixings which is less than 10 minutes away. Marriot Fairfield Inn - 705-253-7378 There's a couple other places nearby but I haven't gone over to see what the rooms look like yet. I wouldn't want to recommend some flea bag motel to ya.;):) Ohh. And for sure bring bridge stuff. That will help with the railroad layout! |
Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
any pay by the hour types LOL

What size bridge would work for ya ? I think some holes might occur  |
Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Hi Bo I need 7x11 inches clearance little wider on a curve . The guage on the track is 1 3/4 . If you want the train over the bridge try not to do more than 2% grade , but I prefer to stay on the ground . Hope that helps . Don't forget the weight of coopers electric wheelbarrow . Mike
|
Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Yeah, I was thinking trucks over train would be easier then train over trucks. And the wheelbarrow can stay in its neighbourhood away from train tracks. Lol

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Here's the latest addition to the fleet. Nothing fancy, cheap n easy to do and works good. Not proper scale but it's all about function.
This toy tower crane will work perfectly at the steel plant area I want to create. Going to make a C hook for it so I can load steel coils onto flatdecks. Also want to make a set of forks that can be used to load steel plates. Not sure what I'm making the coils out of. The plates probably foam board or beach wood planks painted to look like plates.Ultimate goal is to have a hands free way of loading and unloading stuff. Slip clutches have been shoe gooed for a little more power and running higher voltage. Anyway, video of test lift and pics http://youtu.be/y898vVTzVzY http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psttzvrwbl.jpg Enough room under the base for all the escs and Rx. The battery fits perfectly in one of the legs. No trimming of any plastic required in entire project. http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psxqgewwxl.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psmhvtjvfv.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...pslwgpfw2r.jpg And pics of the lift rigging I need to make.... http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psqpvsmgtm.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psoz5nxttk.jpg |
Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Started working on making a scale size shop for the backyard. I was going to paint it but I might use this stuff instead? Not sure what the proper name for it is. It's the stuff they wrap a house with before the siding goes on. One side is white but this backside is pretty cool looking. It has texture to it and almost looks like a concrete swirl thing?....... Can you tell how much I hate painting?
Lots to do yet, here's some mock up pics and the stuff I'm talking about. http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8tnb958a.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psreezmvpj.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3vicopoy.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psktxacjun.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psimazhhu8.jpg |

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Another feature I've come up with for the garage is functional doors!
Was looking at this plastic board and thought, if I slice along each rib this stuff will roll up nicely which made me come up with this so far.... http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psjlibxpsk.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psrei5wzdi.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psysyinyyx.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psbzlm8la8.jpg |
