Did some mach ups this morning. The truck is going to have more rake in it than I want but I happy with it overall as I do not want the front end any higher. Need to buy another set of wheels for the rear, the Euro fronts and knobby tires are not staying on the front, need to drill put the lug hole in my Wedico front wheels before they can be mounted on the driven axle. The rear suspension is working sweet! Yes, the headache rack, fuel tanks and sleeper are going back on. Also have some really nice mirrors from Scale Art to add.

I'm lovin' how it looks as a daycab! It will look great with the sleeper too.

Thanks Nathan, I am too but it would need some shorter rails and different fuel tanks and mounts. The reason I went for a sleeper from the start was to save my interior to make the truck more "model" like. If I had to do it again it would probably be about 2.5" shorter and a day cab but it will look good with the sleeper to I think.

Very impressive !!! I really like how clean and detailed you have built this.
One of the nicest wedicos out there

Craig only a suggestion but why didn't you air ride the 3rd axle, it definitely would have been cheaper? It looks real good so far. So you decided on the 3 speed from Veroma it's a good choice. Ed

Thank you Ed, I was really excited about building a tri-drive on four spring packs. I have not seen anybody try this before, wanted to give it a go myself. The articulation is unbeatable and that means traction. I have seen some very nice looking air ride options but none of them move like this setup.

That is some nice articulation on the rears, it should go just about anywhere setup like that

Awesome truck.

This Veroma has a neat feature that I will probably never use, the small shaft just above the output shaft is for kicking the transfer case in and out if you just want to power the rear wheels. Very cool. The ball socket on top is for shifting the three speeds.

That's a nice piece of hardware, Craig! You're going to have a heck of a truck, when you get it all together!

Thanks Nathan but it still won't be half of what you build.

That truck has some awesome hardware. Going to be one mean ride when it gets rolling under it's own power. I can understand what your saying by "if I had to do it again" I do that all the time myself. But don't worry, truck is a work of art.

Thank you, I love your Peterbilt build, very nice King Hauler.

Craig,

I will be watching your build with renewed interest. It looks as though you are building anything but a toy with that drive-train. I may have to "borrow" a few of your ideas for one of my trucks. Love those black fenders! What are you planing to haul with that big truck?

Them HillBillies know what truckin' is all about!

Steve

Re: HillBilly Deluxe

Thanks Steve! This build has had it's highs and lows for sure, anytime you try and do something different with a Wedico it seems troubles pop up right away!

Borrow away, that's what forums are all about. As for a load, I have been collecting 1/16 farm tractors for 25+ years so my love is there and that's what got me wanting an RC truck in the first place. After watching Nathan and his build for a while I knew I was done with Tamiya and going to Wedico, love the metal and the fact they closer match my farm tractors. I would love to have a 4WD tractor converted to RC to haul, also love some of the RC construction toys but not sure I will ever bite that bullet.
