Re: 1950 Kenworth Needlenose
Not much in the way of BIG updates right now, but I've gone back and made a few little changes, to jazz things up a bit. My original stack mounts looked kind of boring, and I felt like they needed a little something more to dress them up, so I clamped them back in the mill and made some detail/relief cuts.
http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7197e9d5.jpg In case you can't see the changes, here is one of the original stack mounts for comparison - http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/...ps03f24861.jpg Just a little something to go a long way to improving the looks. At least I think so. And if you're here checking out my thread, I thought I would throw in a few extra photos. I hadn't seen the Kenworth back together with the new visor, air cleaners, and stacks, so I just couldn't help myself. :D http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6c2d7d73.jpg http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/...psc245a305.jpg http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/...ps212497e6.jpg Enjoy! |
Re: 1950 Kenworth Needlenose
Wow Nathan, long ways from the toy it was meant to be. Are your stacks and breathers the same diameter?
|
Re: 1950 Kenworth Needlenose
Thanks Craig. Yes, I think they are just about the same diameter. The stacks are 5/8" I.D. so the O.D. probably is 3/4", which is the same O.D. as my air cleaners. A little overkill........maybe. :D

Nate this is a true work of art... Love heavy rc semis and I bet this bad boy has some weight..A heavy rc truck drives so nice compared to a stock one.. I dont get on the board much anymore but this build is one of the few reason I do..

Re: 1950 Kenworth Needlenose
Wow, Paul, I don't know what to say except thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate it! I agree with you about the weight making a big difference in the handling and realism of the truck. I'm not really sure what it weighs yet, but it is pretty solid. I haven't had the truck totally together to the point where I could weigh it. I'm going to guess it will be around ten pounds when finished. Which I hope is soon. :D
