loader cleaning a path to the dig site
a lot of roots to deal with, will need the excavator with ripper to do the job.
we will see how smart this site is.
may be back to the gravel pit , time will tell.

Re: JBC limited NZ

I just read through your entire thread and noticed a few things. First, what a great fleet and a lot accomplished!

You asked me way back when what kind of run time I get out of a 8400.
Now that I have motor speed correct and some time at the controls, I get a solid hour and a half run time. I've got 2 of them. A .gens ace and a traxxas. The gens fits nicely, the traxxas is a little bigger and a snug fit.

I'm glad I did read through, I don't know where the heck I was but I had missed a lot of great info from you and Joe about radio settings for the 4200!

Thanks again for sharing and can't wait to see what's next. :)

im very much like you, no more building until winter starts again. LOL.

I have wheels and servos already so......

I might have to look at the bigger battery option, thanks Mario.
I don't think Ive ever had a group family photo of the construction company,
I do know it has grown ever so slightly so I took a couple of pictures of my addiction.

Im going to need a bigger shed to store them in. :jaw:

Family photos can really put things into perspective. That's why I stopped taking them. Lol.
I wonder what life would be like if I had a neighbour like you. :D
Probably be divorced in no time

Sweet fleet Andy!

divorced and broke LOL
showed the wife the photos, her comment was "I thought you had more than that"
So I better start building a few more.
going to do some googeling on scrapers for the next project.

Re: JBC limited NZ

I finally had a bit of spare time to play with the radio settings for the loader.
I've slowed the steering and bucket drop speed and it looks way better.
next on the list is main drive acceleration.
I want to slow that , but first I need to charge the battery again.....

Re: JBC limited NZ

I had a play with the hyd system in the excavator.
I pulled all the servos off the valves and centred them.
man I wish I had done this years ago, so much better and easier to control,
next on the list is to sort the slew motor, I have wear in the shaft and gear causing the wobbles when you stop the movement.

heres a quick video of the before and after :)

Re: JBC limited NZ

Running great Andy. I can't imagine operating with a drifting boom, bet your happy that's gone.:)

The sloppy slew. Did you try to snug the motor pinion up to swing gear at all? I've got excessive slop also but notice there is some adjustment possible. Going to wait until winter shut down before dealing with it.

And happy summer to ya! :)

Re: JBC limited NZ

cheers Mario,
yes much happier with the operation.
when I first got it I pulled it apart to see how it worked...
guess I put it back together a little wonky and always had to issue to a small degree.
I remembered reading something on this forum about centring the valves , gave it a go and discovered my mistake now it works great.
the problem with the slew is a worn motor shaft, too much slop between shaft and gear.
looks like the grub screw was always a little loose and scored the shaft, a new motor should fix the problem.

Im on a quest at the moment to get a 1969 Plymouth road runner and may end up having to get on a plane and visit the US to view a few . Have a guy here who dose this for a job ( friend of a friend) but our low dollar is making things a little expensive
Have been told by the Mrs that I cant load up the container with RC toys " your going for a car and that's all".....
not a hundred percent sure what she means by that but if any one can recommend a good model shop in or around Arizona I wont say anything....

cheers andy

Re: JBC limited NZ

had a little play time so I had another go at the radio settings for the loader.
so far I have dropped the steering speed by 50%
bucket drop also set at 50%
and main drive motor max speed is at 40% in reverse and 50% forward.
I could have just used the switch on the radio to lock the diffs and slow it down but I figured leaving it unlocked it would place less stress on the axels .

pretty happy with how this loader is working now, just that dam noisy pump....
