Re: Snochaser's Construction Co. Builds
Here you go Ben.
http://www.leimbach-modellbau.de/ If you wanted to order the brushless motor from someone else overseas, other then Leimbach, you could probably take Leimbach's part number and find it in a German hobby shop of your choice. Edit - I guess I couldn't get a direct link to take you right to the motor, but if you scroll down to their 'Hydraulik' section, you can see the brushless motor listed there. They make a 7.2 volt, and a 12 volt version. |
Re: Snochaser's Construction Co. Builds
No updates on the compactor, but while I've been waiting on paint for my KW and parts for the compactor, I've started working on a vac truck ( on a Scania single axle chassis), tweaking and refining operation and functions. I'll post a few pictures later today. Now that I'm getting a bit more free time I hope to make some better progress on all my builds.

Re: Snochaser's Construction Co. Builds
I would do the vacuuming in the house if I had one of those! I need one for my shop come to think of it...Lots of aluminum filings on the floor to suck up!
Great job! |
Re: Snochaser's Construction Co. Builds
Wow Ben, that is SHARP!....I like the way you think outside the box.
|
Re: Snochaser's Construction Co. Builds
WOW! Looking fantastic thus far Ben! If you lived nearby you'd have a job as soon as it was completed. :D
What are you using for an induction motor/fan? |
Re: Snochaser's Construction Co. Builds
Thanks Reg, Rob and Joe. My daughter loves to clean up the granular rubber at the shows, along with driving so I figured this would be a great way for her to accomplish both and give me something to build that I had been thinking of for quite a long time.
Joe, I bought a cheap handheld cordless vac with the plans of using it as a donor, just to see if it would work......well it works but not to my standard so I plan on spending a bit more on another to get a more powerful fan and better impeller. I may also look into an induction fan for planes. |
Re: Snochaser's Construction Co. Builds
..induction fan for planes ...funny you should mention that, somebody on Scale showed a build yesterday using such a suction device. :D

Re: Snochaser's Construction Co. Builds
I saw that, wasn't sure if it would work well in my application.

Re: Snochaser's Construction Co. Builds
That is cool Ben! What color is it going to be.
|
Re: Snochaser's Construction Co. Builds
Not quite sure on the color, I may let my daughter pick it out.
|
Re: Snochaser's Construction Co. Builds
Which one of these induction fans might you pick for your project Ben?

Re: Snochaser's Construction Co. Builds
Take a look at FGD's version, http://rctruckandconstruction.com/sh...=SWEEPER+TRUCK
Cheer's, Neil. |
Re: Snochaser's Construction Co. Builds
That was a great build Neil, I believe his son has it now.
Joe- darn good selection there, I looked at Tower but was undecided. Hope to figure something out today. |
Re: Snochaser's Construction Co. Builds
Great build so far. Not sure I would let your daughter pic out the color scheme. Hate to see you show up at a show with a pink truck without your daughter there to drive it.:lol:

Re: Snochaser's Construction Co. Builds
Funny Lynn......I asked and she said blue and black...sheww....we may be able to make that work :).
I put in a new 18V vac motor and intake, reworked the hopper and I've got suction now, installed a dump servo and Firgelli to raise send lower the vac housing. Now I'm happy with it! Now I can proceed with electronics and exterior details. |
Re: Snochaser's Construction Co. Builds
You posted an update without pictures??! for shame Ben for shame :p

Re: Snochaser's Construction Co. Builds

Any progress on the compactor?
