Re: D11 New Project

Hi Guys, the club had a show day today and I took the dozer out for a run. Only had time to hook up the lift cylinders. It performed well and picked up 2nd place for peoples choice. Still a work in progress.:)

What got first place? I can't see anything being more detailed or better engineered than your dozer(s). On the other hand peoples choice is always a weird thing to figure out even at car shows:confused:.

It's really great to see it functioning and being so close to complete. You and your team must be so proud!

Get her done!! Lol!! Hope that video helps, it took me a bit of programming to get it down. But once I had a better understanding of radio mixing it all became very simple and easy to comprehend. Just a lot of "oh sh&$@" and "dam how did I do that" lol!!

Thanks for the link to your video, it's hard at the moment as work is taking a lot of my free time. Most times the work on the dozer happens on the weekend and for the next two weekends I will be away with work living the dream in a mining camp. Did you get an 8 ch receiver with your transmitter or 9?

Thanks for the great comments, time to work on it is an issue, it will be finished one day soon. The truck that one the peoples choice was from a new member with a modified Tamiya King Hauler Kit. If I can find a photo of it I will put it up.

:update: People have asked how much it weighs, so I put it on the scales.

Cool...

Not as heavy as I thought it might be(40-50kgs)...

Should fit well on most trailers...

Cheers,
AP

That's pretty chunky for aluminum and not too too heavy to pack around.

All 3 finished by Xmas? :D

Re: D11 New Project

75-80 pounds / 28-30 kg is right around what my d11 weighs in at. And yea it's portable but not fun portaging!!! 135 pounds /50kg would be brutal to be moving. Got that radio programmed yet? Just think how much fun it is learning something new :). (Yea being a smarta$$). Building is fun radio stuff is work!!

Hey Cooper, thanks for the programming tips, the transmitter arrived today, so now the fun? Begins. I agree even @ 26kg its still heavy enough to lift into the car.;)

Oops, I was going off Troy mass =2.6 pounds per kg. had been looking up silver brazing and sold by Troy ounce, long story, but had that conversion factor in mind,,, and I wonder why everything I cut is too short!!!
