Re: Ram Build
Just tinkering with the trailer, waiting on some LED bezels from True Scale and get the tilt servo or ram (not sure which yet) and add some paint and details ... like that red and white reflective tape for the sides if I can find it....trying some different tires too..

Re: Ram Build
Sharp looking rig!
Red&White scotchlite tape can usually be found in the trailer section at places like Lowes, HomeDepot, Walmart, HarborFreight, Autozone... plus you get a template to measure to scale down the small ones. Then one of the small papercutters that holds the holds paper while you move the knife is the easy way to trim to size. Good scissors work, but it's harder to keep it even. You can also just order the seperate color Scotchlite tapes in different widths |
Re: Ram Build
Thanks,
I always assumed there was some kind of scale reflective tape everybody used....I check those stores. |
Re: Ram Build
Actually if your trailer is less than 80 scale inches wide, which your style of trailer often is, you don't need to put the red/white tape on. Do a google search on "DOT conspicuity regulations" and you will find links to all the US truck/trailer marking requirements.

I just thought it would look cool

Re: Ram Build
Scotchlite looks really cool on models! Especially when people take pics with the flash on, or you have other lighted stuff around it.
Atleast you wanted the 'easy' colors. A while back i did a slow-vehicle triangle for a Tractor, and was messing around with stripe colors for an Ambulance. |
Re: Ram Build
Just have to find it...or get it...
