Only problem is, it ain't Radio controlled and it smaller than a can of coke! |

Re: Bell 50 ton Dumper - ADT
Its arrived, today a very large and very heavy box turned up on the doorstep…
http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2151.jpg Upon first opening, I thought Frank had sent me his weekly rubbish, rather than the dumper I had ordered…. http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2153.jpg Everything unpacked http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2156.jpg http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2155.jpg Look how big the rear dump section is…! http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2157.jpg The tyres are huge as well http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2159.jpg http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2160.jpg Wheel http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2162.jpg |
Re: the start of the build
So where to start… axles seemed a good a choice as any..
All 3 axles assembled in no time at all, every thing fits together so nice, the tolerances are perfect, in fact sometimes I’m not so sure the two parts are meant to go together they are that tight…I still need to rip them back apart and solder the cables to the motors. The motors and gearbox slip up the inside of each axle and the drive spindle is supported by two huge fully sealed bearings, the axles even have O rings where they join together, this seals them completely keeping all the dust and water out http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2169.jpg The hub fitted to the axle http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2167.jpg http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2166.jpg http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2165.jpg If I had my way, I would work through the night and get it finished, but I don’t! So that’s it for tonight, happy so far, every fits together perfectly. |
Re: Bell 50 ton Dumper - ADT
wow looks great keep the pics coming....

Re: Bell 50 ton Dumper - ADT
when you take the axle apart to wire it will you take photos of the inside and the putting it back together
thanks |
Re: Bell 50 ton Dumper - ADT
Looks like a blast to put together. Don't build it too fast, you only get to build it once...:)
|
Re: Bell 50 ton Dumper - ADT
lol or you have to tear it apart and re-build it :P
take LOTS of pictures!!! its all EYE CANDY!!! :D |
Re: Bell 50 ton Dumper - ADT
A good pic of the wheel drive motor? What's the specs/manufacture on the box?
Is the tailgate standard with the kit or is that a seperate item on the order list? I ask b/c the quick coupler & even the decal sheet didn't come with my hoe kit b/c I didn't specifically order it. I said I wanted the JD850, but no decal sheet come with it. Is there any other options you ordered with the ADT kit that are seperate options? |

Hi Joe, Here's a picture of the box that the motor and gearbox came in, I will strip the axle tonight so you can see the motor... another good thing about this kit, only a few screws and its apart, so easy to service. I feel your pain ref the extras, or what you think might be standard included parts. I think that's one downside of buying overseas and online. With regards to my build, the tailgate, wing mirrors and interior cab are extras. I only found this out, by looking at the photo of the parts on the website and then inquiring about them. I think it would be beneficial if the optional extras were listed. http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/7414bae7.jpg |
Re: Bell 50 ton Dumper - ADT
Does it say anywhere the reduction or output rpm? Thanx for the pic.
The biggest pain with re-orders is the money/currency exchange. Atleast the last go around I was able to phone to make small payment with cc#. However, it's nice to get everything in one shot. |
Re: Bell 50 ton Dumper - ADT
Wow. The ADT looks like a really neat model. I sure wouldn't mind having one for myself. :D Keep the pictures coming!

They are marked up as 100:1, but not RPM details. I temporarily connected one up to a 7.4volt battery and its pretty slow. Are you still looking for one for your dumper? If so, then I will do some more research. Elliot |
Re: Bell 50 ton Dumper - ADT
Another busy night…
Rear suspension bolted up and ready to accept the axles… the holes in the chassis are a little tight, I think this is due to them being laser cut rather than drilled, but easily overcome, just run a 10mm or 6mm drill bit through it or whatever size the hole is meant to be. Job done… Onto some pictures http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2196.jpg http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2195.jpg Bolted the articulated swivel joint on, again another oversized very well engineered part, the fit of the pieces is so good. I know anyone with an ounce of machining knowledge could do it, but I’m still amazed at the tight tolerances! http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2201.jpg http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2200.jpg http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2199.jpg http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2198.jpg http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2197.jpg http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2188.jpg The axles still needed wiring, but thought what the heck, lets bolt them on… http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/IMG_2179.jpg |
