No idea what's happening with the release. At this point it sure would be nice if they put an eta for those that have preordered and are waiting patiently.

My hobby shop guy inquired a month ago & was told May/June 2012.

I'm looking forward to this radio too, the DX6 & 8 that I have work awesome.

Re: DX10T

Joe, I wonder how reliable that date is as well.. if I recall it was meant to be out late 2010, then April/May 2011 and now your date..

How long can it take to bring a radio to market!

Anyway, all of that said, I still want one, if only for its model match feature, nowt worse than having to keep switching off the model when I switch between them...

Its here...

The radio was released a few weeks ago, but I couldn't decide if i wanted one or not. But on Friday, I did the deed and ordered one. It arrived yesterday!! Like the futaba, its really easy to use. The manual is very small with only a few pages...

Re: DX10T

what other radios do you have to compare it to?

I have a DX6 and a JR DSX9, and I am tossing up between DX10T and a DX18... or something totally different...

Re: DX10T

My main radio has been the Futaba 14MZ, but I've also got an FF9 and a Graupner MC19 and a few Turnigy radios.

The Futaba 14mz is a fantastic radio, really easy to use but it lacked sliders and model match memory. They are the two reasons I changed to Spektrum and the DX10.

The 10 and 18 are virtually the same price here, I guess it depends on what you want to use it for?

It looks like a superb piece of kit, but will the tamiya mfu function with it?

apfubar 04-17-2012 03:17 AM

Re: DX10T

I am looking at the 10t because of the sliders, that way I can control an excavator(when I eventually get one).

I also love the model match... hence why non-spektrum would be a real challenge.

I don't see why not? I personally don't use or have an MFU, but I can't think of a reason why not. Are they any special functions that an MFU has? If so, let me know, and I'll try and answer.

Nice looking radio, thanks for posting.

Does it feel lighter or heavier than other radios you have? It looks thinner and lighter than a regular non-tray type radio.

Re: DX10T

It feels a lot lighter than my other futaba radios. But in fairness to futaba, the DX is built as "robust" as their radios. You can certainly feel the "plastic" in the Spektrum, not that that will make it function any worse, it just feels "lighter"

Also, being a tray radio, you will need a harness to support it. It's way to wide to hold and operate a model easily. ( but I kinda guessed that before ) so ordered a nice graupner body harness for it... don't I look special now

Re: DX10T

The functions such as lighting and that sort of thing are operated by using the sticks in conjunction with the trim sliders of an analogue radio, so it doesn't work so well with radios that have digital trims.

With a computer radio you can set the dual rate switches to mimic the action of the trims and therefore use all of the mfu's functions, I've done this with futaba's and a dx7s

Nice looking radio, shame its out of my budget:(

That makes sense... I've seen people adjusting the trims turning the lights on and then centering the trims.
I just checked the radio, and adjusting the trims from centre to their far end points take approx 3 seconds. However you can change that in two ways.. in settings you can up the ratio that the trim button increments in. I changed it from 5 to 10 and now it can got from center to full right or left in about a second.

or the really easy method... assign a mix for this function.

Hope that helps

I've literally just done that to see if it would work..
