Re: First Build - King Hauler

a few but not much,

my profession is getting in the way of my building!!

i got the third axle in, and thanks to kenworth_1985 i have a set of rims :D

ive made the hoop for the driveshaft for the lift axle, and because im cheap im making my frame rails, i have to trim some channel i got down lengthwise, and got almose to the end of one and my bandsaw blew a belt.

i have the design for my lift axle figured out, just need the parts.

hopefully within a few weeks i'll have some update pics up, ive already figured out my next 2 or 3 builds.....just need the time to do it!

this actually looks like the pitted/weathered stainless after a couple winters in the northern part of the U.S. or Canada lol

so now i guess ill move forward on making a grill for the W9 and see if i can paint it chrome too.

thx for lookin

got some work done on my grill last night. cut the basic shape from .080 styrene, with large holes to accommodate a 3mm nut then glued a second layer to give it the depth. i covered the side with the nuts with a piece of .020, real thin stuff and cut some vertical bars from .o6o and glues them in. i still have to make i thin edge on the outside of the face of the grill.

it still needs alot of finish sanding but you get the idea.
a pic of the lift axle with the hoop:

also got around to taking a few pics of some other stuff, detailed the breathers, added the door "decal". got some hub covers for it, but the back ones dont fit right, so im going to have make some. the fronts work good tho.

http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/...1-29133447.jpg

im still toying with the idea of a 36"cheater bunk or something, cant decide!

thx for looking!

Wow! That's looking sweet for a first build!

Are those the fenders from the container trailer?! They look right at home on there! I've always thought it would be cool to have some double hump poly fenders other than the typical aluminum kind.

Neat truck!

Looks like a good old hard working truck. Ya know, an every day use truck, built for haulin' and the open road, as opposed to a show truck.
