Very nice build Actros, I will be doing some sort of build also but not as fancy as yours. Where did you get the orange lights from, the sqaure looking ones on the trailer??
Thanks

Can you buy that suspension set-up or did you make it?
Do you believe the pivot point will be strong enough one each set of wheels? For driving it out side (in the dirt)
Some great photos there thanks.
Tim

The steering is servo operated, you can se it in picture number four. Now i don't thint you can buy it i don't even now who made it, the guy i bought it from said it is from Robbe but i can't be sure of that, there are now markings on the trailer :(

Well i have my 18kg/40lb dump truck om it and thats no problem at all. The connection between the lowbed and higer over the wheels on the other hand must be reinforced.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...ps49ee0ce5.jpg

I have the trailer taken appart for now. Making som changes on it, a more powerfull servo, Servonaut IR-transmission for steering and lights and i'm gonna try to make the gooseneck detachable.

A picture with that big steel monster of a dump truck :D

Wow that is an awesome idea for a multi wheeled steering. That bad boy must turn heads when all those wheels turn lol

Not much done but a little :)

Prepared hoses for the second valve.

Made a simple connection between the shovel and crane with two pieces of brass.

Here it is on the crane :)

Re: Scania T580 8x4*4 dumptruck with krane

I gotta question for ya, I recently bought and added the same Veroma transmission and mount to my Wedico. Seems like the transmission has a little too much flex when just hanging off that one mount. Have you had any issues with yours?

Thanks!
Craig

Re: Scania T580 8x4*4 dumptruck with krane

No i can't say i have noticed that problem :)

Re: Scania T580 8x4*4 dumptruck with krane

I really enjoy the evolution of this truck, you have some great ideas and skills.

I do have a question about the crane though, does that bolt straight onto the frame rails of the trucks? I'm considering getting one for a project I'm thinking about.

Thanks buzzy

Actros861 05-14-2013 09:42 PM

Re: Scania T580 8x4*4 dumptruck with krane

Thanks :)

There is a plate with the kit that pinch around the frame. There is a small problem with this and that is the crane doesn't mount over the supportlegs.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5f30df07.jpg

So i did this ugly looking thing. Sadly i don't have better pictures of it and it's really hard to get good one now :P

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...0/P4013456.jpg

Sorry for the late reply :(

Wow, I missed this build back when it was current, but after finding it today, I have to say it's impressive! Lots going on with this truck and the chassis. I'm amazed you were able to fit everything in to make it functional. The cab turned out nice, and did I see that right? A reefer axle for your front steering?
