Re: Volvo A40F
Hmmm. For me it shows a pink screen with some writing that basically translates into the page is down. I did some more poking around with the wording and it says restricted country? Anyone else from Canada able to see Rigid's site? It has been this way for me for months now. I just thought they went out of business or something...Sucks to be me I guess....:(

Re: Volvo A40F
I had the same problem as Reg did so its something to do with us Canucks ..Maybe someone can forward us their email addy so we can make them aware so we can throw some cash at them too ..lol ..Sorry to hyjack your thread Ari..I like your build choice ...Popcorn is ready and looking forward to your updates ....The cab and hood area look as though they could be a challenge..As a modeler i find that kind of work rewarding when you come up with a good solution ..May be printing some parts on this one ..cheers lou

I got all the parts for the axles done. There's over 200 threads on these parts, M2, M1.6, M1.4 and M1.2

Re: Volvo A40F

The only reason why i have chosen Volvo is that I think it looks better than the other adt's. |
Re: Volvo A40F
Wow, another winner in process! I really like the use of planetaries in the hubs. Very realistic plus its takes a lot of stress off the differential and driveline pieces. Workmanship is always the best and I enjoy seeing it come together - even if you had to thread over 200 holes just on the axle pieces!

Re: Volvo A40F
Here's a more detailed story of how to attach the planetary gear to these RigidRc axles.
First I chance the drive shafts for longer ones that I made: http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps021cc7e5.jpg After that I install the new axle housing ends, those are tight fit over housing and kept in place with two M2 screws: http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps049428fd.jpg http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...psc7025313.jpg Then it was time to install the planetary gear to the adapter plate with 4 M2 screws: http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps18723f66.jpg Then the planetary assembly will attach to the axle housing ends with 15 M2 screws http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps5d48199d.jpg There are rims that attach straight to the planetary gears, but the one I'm using are bigger, so I had to make new hubs over them. http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...psd1d95796.jpg And finally the the hub cap in place. http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps105c7c7d.jpg The Rigidrc axle are pretty nice and strong, but I strongly advise to put them in pieces before use. The four screws that hold the differential housing together were more or less loose in all my axles. Put some thread lock there and they will keep tight. |
