Hi...

The new plate is cut out, glued and a bit sanded. An additional styrene piece is glued behind the middle part so that it is more stable.

Now it must try completely to be able to finish the sanding and the cut out of the windows.

Hi...

2 little steps.

1. I want to use smaller seals for the side windows, but I need something to give them the possibility to hold the window.

Before

http://up.picr.de/30693697yh.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30693700qt.jpg

After

http://up.picr.de/30693755xb.jpg

2. I wanted to fix the grill at the bonnet. It's planned to fix the grill from behind.

I drilled holes and threaded them.

http://up.picr.de/30693694su.jpg

After that small pieces if brass are solded into the outside of the holes and sanded until it's no longer seen.

http://up.picr.de/30693691yu.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30693692ex.jpg

Now the grill can be screwed to the bonnet.

Re: Custom build of a Kenworth C509 as autralian roadtrain

Hi...

many thanx for your reply... ;)

While the sleeper is drying, I had a look at the lower parts of the fenders. They were mounted as one piece directly to the frame, but I want to have them split and mounted to the floor of the cabine, so that I can adjust them individually.

I assume, the work brought the wanted result.

Another advantage is, that I do have more space on the frame for the electronic components.

Re: Custom build of a Kenworth C509 as autralian roadtrain

Hi..

At the weekend I found some King Hauler parts and I decided to use the air filters for the C509, but they must be modified, because it must have air pipes with air entry parts (I don't know the englisch word) on the level of the roof of the cab. The pipes shown on the pictures are not the final part.

I only have 8mm brass tubes and 6mm round full brass rods. So I created 2 pieces that will be soldered on both sides of the pipe.

To get the holes centered in the rod, I took a piece of the 8mm pipe to get the drill centered. On one side I made a 3mm thread, on the other side a 4.5mm hole to place the "nose" of the air entries in.

http://up.picr.de/30880184bl.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30880185kp.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30880190du.jpg

After that I started to assemble the parts.

http://up.picr.de/30880194qb.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30880196gp.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30880197qk.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30880202hl.jpg

Final position (please keep in mind, the pipes will be longer in the final version.

http://up.picr.de/30880212aa.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30880181xj.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30880182vx.jpg

Later I will remove the chrome, all "chrome parts" will get the same color.

That's it for today.

Hi,

I made it. The profiles are 8x5mm and the tubes are 5mm full metal brass.

I only took some pictures fron the internet and built a bar as I want to have it, no brand name.

Hi...

It's a solder board were you can fix pieces to solder them.

I bought it some years ago in a german online shop, but the shop doesn't exist anymore.

I'll try to find it in another shop and will post the link if I find it.

Hi...

a bit of progress here...

I started to build the rear fenders. I want to make a sort of Flexiguard system.

http://up.picr.de/31333874pv.jpg

http://up.picr.de/31333875tk.jpg

While I'm waiting for a machine to fold the rear bumber I started to build the tanks.

http://up.picr.de/31373529ts.jpg

The parts for one tank.

http://up.picr.de/31373530qt.jpg

And after gluing them: Sanding, sanding, sanding...

http://up.picr.de/31373532ng.jpg

And that's the result (with 100er sanding paper)
