SUPER job like always Freddy!! Keep us posted.

Re: Over budget loader,First test vid!
That works very smooth. Where did the bucket come from? What are the dimensions?
|
Re: Over budget loader,First test vid!
Although they had twin bucket cylinders, the green color of the chassis and rugged square look of the cab makes me think to an old Terex 7271
:D |
Re: Over budget loader,First test vid!
Looks great Freddy I cant wait to get one!!Never thought I would get a loader but it is looking up..
|
Re: Over budget loader,First test vid!
Freddy, everything you biuld turns to gold.:D
Great work friend, can't wait to see more:) And I love the vid;) Big John |
Re: Over budget loader,First test vid!
What was that click click when you tried to turn? Didn't install servo horn screw? :D What oz/in servo are you using?
Looks good on the table, but the real story will be told when it's in the dirt. :) |
Re: Over budget loader,First test vid!
Brian,I'm going to add it up tonight.Off the top of my head,I would have to say around $1800. in parts. Which I don't think is bad at all.
9w,the bucket is off of a JD 1/16 scale toy. Joe the clicking is the wonderful trany skippin gears. But it's all fixed now!:D Speaking of what I had to use for a trany. It only took 5 time out of the machine before I got smart & remade the trany end plates. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics766.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics770.jpg Well here's some shots of her almost done. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics759.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics760.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics761.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics767.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics768.jpg Now the workin vid! Try not to laugh to hard at my operating skills. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics771.jpg I'll get better as time goes on. Not bad for the money invested.:D Guy's Thanks for the nice complements! FGD |
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Great work on this loader, clever and clean, i think it deserves a new bucket! :)

Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Good work! I like that you saw (and used) the potential of the tractor. One of a kind is always cool.

Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
That's awesome. It seems to be working really well. Heck, it just about climbed up the side of the dump truck, with the first bucket full!
|
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Very innovative conversion of tractor to loader - just what we have come to expect from FGD. Always interesting to see what resources will become the latest creation. Really a nice build.
I'm still a newbie, so I can't identify the driveshaft and u-joint combination I see in the picture following the transmission plate image? What brand components are these? Thanks, Ken |
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Awesome work! Definatly a more worth it than droppin $5k.
Chris |
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Very cool, just when you think you've seen it all.
|
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
still less then kit cost, but I think with mini actuators I can build a loader for half our cost FGD.
|
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Nice machine there Freddy. Now I remember someone giving me a razing for the way I loaded my bottom dump!!!! You were not very nice to the side boards and does ramming the side of the truck get the bucket over the truck farther or is that just to shake the load down to get more on.:p:p:D:D

Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Works pretty good... for a knock off. :D
I was about to ask if your diffs were locked for why the trans skipped, but it looks like the rear axle is open atleast. I tried some Shoo Goo in your red GL in just the last axle for limited slip diff, it improved its traction without causing the steer tires to skid, but it will peel the floats off with the trk loaded & BB's didn't help to keep them on either. Still got your mig? Need a bigger bucket. 20 guage wouldn't be overly heavy. You need a better esc for for/rev, ever try Servonaut's S20? I used one for my 850's swing motor, speeds up evenly/smoothly - slows down the same way. They're pricy, but it's the best I've ever tried & quite compact too. |
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Thanks Guys!
9w,that is what the bucket is off of.I took one all apart, but my skills aren't that good yet to pull that off. It's a lot smaller than the stieger. Sparky, the steel u-joints I buy two in a pack,I'll get the part # for you if you want. Scott, those actuators are none to cheap, then the cost of a speed controller per actuator, can add up in a big hurry. I agree it would be cheaper. Yea Joe,I'm waiting on smaller dia wire right now. The front diff is locked, the rear is open. This thing is unreal in the dirt. It by no means needs the rear locked. If it ever quits raining,I'll try to get a dirt vid in before the white crap hits. Travis, with rubber for a load, gotta give her a shake to pack it down.:o Quote:

|
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
now that looks like a bucket.nice job freddy!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Much better, nice grapple, will it be hydraulic?
|
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Freddy, nice loader build. Really like the new bucket - assembled with JB Weld? Would not have considered it strong enough in that application, with such a narrow joint - nice to know!
Yes, I'd appreciate the brand and part number on the metal u-joints. I have Traxxas shafts I'm using on my Payhauler truck but am not fond of the composite u-joints where they attach to the transmission shaft. Maybe I'll do something different, after seeing yours. Thanks! Ken |
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
looks like a terex loader to me lol nice job Freddy

Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!

WOW! You just keep nailing it every time! |
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Freakin' awesome pops. One of the coolest yet. You think that little motor will have the hair?
|
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Fred, that is just too cool!
Brian |
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Looking good! Are you going to put Teeth on the Bucket?
|
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Thanks Guys!
RCTech9,Not sure about teeth on this one,I've already started on a large material bucket for er,might put ripper teeth on that one. Well...managed to do a little work on my baby. First mounted the 1000:1 motor to grapple,& made a little sexy cover for the motor. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics863.jpg I still have to cut out some exspanded metal to cover the air hole. Speakin of sexy, when I bought this pump,it was for my skidder. So I shortened the oil tank to fit inside that project. Well turns out if you don't relax the hydraulics after shutting of,over time it will overfill the tank & leak out of the breather. This is what I came up with to fix that little problem. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics865.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics864.jpg Now ain't that sexy? & here's a vid of the power test of the grapple. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics868.jpg Thanks for lookin! FGD |
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Great job Fred! Nice to see you back at all the building. Seems you've really shifted to the tractors and the trucks are on hold at the moment. Way to keep the price and build time down by adapting to what already exists.
Ben |
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Thats slick pops. I didn't think that motor would have the snot, but it seems to work just fine. I think you need to doctor up the styrene housing around the motor though. It looks like hammered sack.
|
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
I like it Freddy
You can get many different jobs done with that machine... Very cool Greg |
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Hey Fred, the grapple looks like it works pretty well. Surprised at how quick it came together. Now get us some workin vids outside.
Tyler |
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
That works great and looks very good, great job on this one!
|
Re: Perfect budget loader,Now working vid!
Thanks Guys!
Beans, hows about waitin till it has some paint on it,before you give it such a nice name. Tyler,I'm workin on it. Just a matter of time & the white crap will be falling on my side walk, deck & drive way. This year I'm going to see if I can keep mywalks & deck clean of snow via rc only. This might mean 12 hr shifts in order to keep up with her on those bad events. The more time I can plow in my slippers, the better! So this is the first weapon in the line coming to make my quest a reality. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics921.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics922.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics923.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics924.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics926.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics927.jpg Most of the time, you would leave the bucket on & it looks like this. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics928.jpg I'm not going that route,it only takes acouple of minutes to pull the pins on the bucket. So this baby is going straight to the lift arms. Thanks for lookin! FGD |
