Re: My new Lowboy
Travis good looking lowboy and I like the quad axle. How wide is it and are those plastic wheels or aluminum they look good to?:):)

Re: My new Lowboy
That won't be wide enough for my machine it 12 niches wide at the outside of the cats. I guess after I get every thing else built I will have to build a beam trailer to haul it. You have done a nice job so far and the wheels look real good. Ed

Re: My new Lowboy
would that be a hundred more duals or 50 in pairs or 100 tires or 200 i got lost somewhere ??????...............oh the head hurts already just thinkin about that many more lmao i think Izzy would have to stay a couple weeks to help on that one i wouldn't be able to walk outta my shop all the delron strips i wouldn't be seen i would be all covered up lol
|
Re: My new Lowboy
That would be 100 rims to fit 200 tires and hay I can wish can't I?
Travis |
Re: My new Lowboy

Re: My new Lowboy
Trailers look great! The wheels really set them apart. Isn't delrin fun to work with???
Lynn |
Re: My new Lowboy
lol man i had a big pile of delron strips this stuff shaves insted of chips and grindings lol
|
Re: My new Lowboy
That's one of the wonders of delrin. No matter how much you want to turn off of a part, you always get a ribbon/string. Just one word of warning- DO NOT TRY AND PULL THE RIBBONS/STRINGS OFF OF A PART WHILE IT IS TURNING!!!! Have seen one guy lose part of a finger trying to do this. Not a pretty sight!:eek:

Re: My new Lowboy
I set up my account with the plastic supplier today and ordered more stock including styrene so I guess I will put the trucks on hold for a while to get the lowboys up and running.

Re: My new Lowboy
Well you might as well put my name on the list!:D
|
Re: My new Lowboy
Travis what does the goose neck going to look like? What I am thinking is put 3 of those beams close together and do away with the outer ones you have now then with a quad axle and if it will hold 70 or 80 lbs and is long enough in the center to carry my excavator I'd take one. That way I'd have a beam trailer just drop the goose neck drive the excavator on top of the beams block it up chain it down and when I pick the trailer up with the goose neck I will be off. Let me know wat you think. Ed

Re: My new Lowboy
Ed I am going to see how these are going to work before I decide to try and make one for someone else.
I made a little progress today and made the necks for the trailers and one is almost functional. Here are some pics. http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/s...y/100_0533.jpg http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/s...y/100_0534.jpg http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/s...y/100_0535.jpg Thanks for looking Travis |
