Awesome builds! The rod loiks very good with the high roof.

Re: The big bad thread of Russ's custom builds

I really like the rat with high roof, maybe just throw a fuel tank on the back since it doesn't look like there's room for a 5th wheel.

The semi pulling the I-beam trailer is just wild.

Yeah there isn't much room on the back, i do have a small keg that i'm gonna stick behind the cab for a fuel tank.

I use this for gluing the tires....
http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m...psnf1rxhj0.jpg

As far as cutting them, just a good sharp razor knife and i used the outer line on the tamiya tires as a guide. Wasn't hard to do.
I sanded the big tires some when they where done to flatten the tread back out, its alittle wavy from the curve of the three tires together.

So a few days back i ordered up a sheet of plastic to use as a new work top and it came in today. It makes for a really nice flat work space.

Afew shots of the cab.
I went with a pete-ish look for the grill as the cab was already painted i wanted something that would fit in the stock opening.

Re: The big bad thread of Russ's custom builds

So here is whats up with the axles on the note book, lol I'm trying out kind of a different idea i had for the rear of the puller, so i started out by making some "track bars" to tie the rear axles together and mocked it up and a stock frame.

Hi,

but now the axles can't swing anymore to handke any roughness in the ground. The wheels will hang in the air and the truck will stop because of no traction. The only way to solve this would be to lock all rear axles completely.

bigford 08-15-2016 02:43 PM

its a pulling truck all power to the ground and pull the sled

If I'm right this truck will be pulling on a carpeted floor, flat surface only.

At the back i finished off the track bars with some 1/16 revo shocks on the back and also added a small bumper / hitch plate

Re: The big bad thread of Russ's custom builds

I had planed on just using a e-maxx trans in the truck, but after looking it over, it wasnt really going to fit how i wanted it..... So after getting some gears and bearings i can up with something that would fit better in the frame.
