Just finished installing SMB servonaut sound module. I'm still finalizing the mixing rates to get the appropriate noise at the right time. It's been a challenge.

Re: Komatsu PC700 Excavator unboxing and review
Figured out how to post with Flickr thanks to member Frizzen.
This was my first time seeing RC4wd products in person (besides all the youtube videos). I never realized how much smaller rc4wd excavators were compared to the PC700. So I took several photos from different angles just to get an idea of the size differences. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4572/...e31b1c39_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4575/...5edeec01_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4523/...e072e934_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4532/...d8e99e82_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4581/...67f86357_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4572/...ee36818b_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4549/...5f6fbe37_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4579/...9ca8c0bc_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4537/...2c09df3b_c.jpg |
Re: Komatsu PC700 Excavator unboxing and review
RC4wd asked me if I can put a towel so it wont scratch the new trailer with the 91lbs PC700 :) The trailer is built very strong. It was perfect for the PC700.

Re: Komatsu PC700 Excavator unboxing and review
Great shots Shawn! The PC700 excavator seems to be the only excavator capable of loading RC4WD mining truck withouth the need of being elevated higher up.

Re: Komatsu PC700 Excavator unboxing and review
Some minor scale updates to the PC700.
But first a little history. My only feedback to The Mother RC Construction was the rather unappealing rectangular shape engine hood cover. Paolo explained the reason for the rectangular shape was the result of making everything out of steel. I asked him if he can make an option with only the engine hood cover printed in 3D plastic. A month later he posted on shapeways :) That's customer service at its finest. Now for some pictures: I had a local metal shop laser cut the new steel plate to match the 3d printed engine hood's curves. I'm keeping the original as backup. I also plan on adding hinges so I can open up the engine hood like the 1:1 scale. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4592/...5772391f_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4683/...b11c2265_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4730/...118ea6fc_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4682/...3a82c01a_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4688/...25032a39_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4639/...c9639d76_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4600/...aefa82d1_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4732/...f91d7889_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4596/...cb21d9a4_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4596/...40f52c63_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4733/...484968e3_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4688/...9af702cb_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4689/...0ebd3d8a_c.jpg |
Re: Komatsu PC700 Excavator unboxing and review
I see now what you meant about the original being a bit too square. Once you get that painted and the exhaust on, it will look true to scale.

Great customer service right there! Keep us posted how the new hood come’s out. Love your excavator

Re: Komatsu PC700 Excavator unboxing and review
Shawn, great pictures of the equipment and show area. Do you have any other pictures of the trailer and the mining truck?
What is the max load on that trailer? And, how did the mining truck perform? Thank you for sharing the pictures of the show. Jim |

It looks to me, like the speed controller ramps up too fast. If it has a brake function, turn it off. Or a more programmable radio?

Re: Komatsu PC700 Excavator unboxing and review
Hi all,
It's been a while since I posted on this forum, I have been away from RC construction machine for a few years now. I'd like to get back on track and I really like this model, the 70Tons excavator is my favorite target and the price looks like it's a great value. Im more interested by a reliable machine with lots of diggin power than cosmetics. I've contacted Paolo, which seems like a very professional guy with amazing craftmanship, but I'd like to hear back from an actual user of this model. there isnt much videos on the internet and very few threads in german forums AFAIK, so it's difficult for me to get an idea of this model reliability. So Shawn, seeing that you've been using this model for a few months now I'd like to get feedback from you if you dont mind, could be in MP if you prefer. Would you recommend this model ? any hint would be appreciated really. Thanks, Dimitri. |
