Re: rc4wd 870k loader
I got that new version and yes, it does not have the fan. Also, I think maybe the battery compartment is a different size now. It seems to allow more standard sized batteries.
I bought this one, and it fits very nicely (143x51x28mm) and is quite cheap: ZIPPY Flightmax 5800mAh 3S1P 30C http://ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/wid...&tag=tube00-20 It fits very snugly. I don't think the battery could be any bigger in any dimension. Especially the width. I don't think you could squeeze 29mm in there unless you moved some of the plastic straps. I replaced the bullet connector with XT60, but you can also buy an adapter with wire or without: - Adapter with wire - Adapter without wire Best regards, Stein :-) |
Re: rc4wd 870k loader
that would figure, I placed my order mid February so I wonder what style engine cover I'll get. rather the older style to be honest. (newer looks a lil case-ish) Good info on that battery as well.

Re: rc4wd 870k loader
I like the new rear panel. I personally would replace the red lenses with some clear one's and put the reverse lights there with a slow vehicle triangle on the back

Re: rc4wd 870k loader
well I'm happy to report fed-ex spared my loader as it arrived perfectly. No wood just cardboard and foam packing, box gave me a little scare as it took some hits now ofcorse I just get a message the battery I ordered is out of stock so the torture continues. Now its just taunting me.. working on photobucket to upload some pics
|
Re: rc4wd 870k loader
That gives you time to do a one over. Check all your screws and connections to make sure they are tight. Also check your terminal block to make sure nothing is loose, as well as your RX connections. Looking forward to the pics!

Re: rc4wd 870k loader
I was thinking the same thing.. was just going thru the kit and not seeing the body for the waring becon??? just led bulbs with leads no base or dome
|
Re: rc4wd 870k loader
yep got shorted the becon light package..I received 18 bulbs and theres18 mounting holes on the machine. looks like a fun install to lots of tight spots. dont make sense to me not to offer the install at the time of build..
|
Re: rc4wd 870k loader
Nothing else it gets you to know your machine. Running those lights will require some stuff taken apart and seeing the "guts" to it.
|
Re: rc4wd 870k loader
looks like cab removal, rear cover and exhaust platform. and sure of plenty others.would like to run it a few times before tearing it down for light install and inspect for any issues. Shipping only very minimal oil from the vent line leaked. so I'll top it off run it thru it paces and change. clear line from tank to pump shows golden oil so should get thru some testing before a flush, if and when the battery gets here.. pure torture.. I'm not so hot for the radio kinda looks a little toy-ish but main concern was that it got here in one piece and I'll take that..

ya never know what goes on in foreign parking garages.. yet another night she sits powerless. But on the plus side my new dura conveyor showed up, some assembly required sounds about right.

Re: rc4wd 870k loader
going to a long night.. but in a good way, my battery got here early. still figuring out the whole lipo charger tested batt out of the box at 12.2 did a quick test of sound only, worked as it should for a minute then shut down and restarted so if its like the m.f.u on the charger she goes.
|
Re: rc4wd 870k loader
Yeah I recommend selecting a balance charge if you have the option on your charger. Every cell gets an even charge this way. Check youtube for help videos, there's most likely a video about your charger.

Re: rc4wd 870k loader
well there goes that idea, got the battery all juiced up and bang-o.. crap sound quality followed by no sound at all.. somthing loose, a good love tap to the cab and I get a lil tease. but everything else is going great. with some of the shipping horrors ive heard with r/c machines ill take a crapped out sound kit any day. sound or not i still love it.

Re: rc4wd 870k loader
Probably just a loose connection.
|
Re: rc4wd 870k loader
yep the leads to the speaker itslef are loose. easy fix. I would like to swap steering and tilt. anyone know which channel steer and tilt are on? to keep me from pulling one at a time, as i received no info on this radio or any paperwork for that matter.
|
Re: rc4wd 870k loader
Here's the wiring diagram for the loader. Steering is channel 1 and I believe tilt represented by "dump bed" channel 4.

Re: rc4wd 870k loader
Thanks for the diagram on the wiring as I know that will be valuable to me on more then one occasion.

Re: rc4wd 870k loader
Anyone know of a manual or a PDF or the 870 loader. looks like cab has to come off to repair speaker leads. trying to locate all involved screws. ahead of the cursing and head scratching.

Re: rc4wd 870k loader
I have found this one, but I would like to see a more official link:

Re: rc4wd 870k loader
Yup, looks like 6 screws from underneath on pg 40.
|
Re: rc4wd 870k loader
Thank you for the pages on the loader, guess that explains the sounds quality. Theres a chair using a speaker for a seat.. maybe I can turn the seat into some sort of a bass box. looking into a better quality speaker that will fit. keep ya posted if I do. thanks again for the much needed info.

Re: rc4wd 870k loader
Lenny, did you find a better speaker alternative? Stock speaker appears to be 45mm or 1-3/4" diameter.
My beier sound card may have over powered the stock speaker and caused damage. Any tips or speaker alternatives would be appreciated. Thanks |
Re: rc4wd 870k loader
I have a speaker from one of my Lionel engines.. it's laying in the rear hatch facing out the left side vents which is nice for sound. Just no need to remove the cab yet so thats the way its been.
|
Re: rc4wd 870k loader
there are 4 screws to remove the cab 2 are in the front of cab 1 is in the front of the hydro tank the 4 screw will take the whole cab in 1 piece i believe but i had to remove all of it i will not get into the problems i have had and still haveing i have the it apart from front of cab to the rear bumper hahahaha:jaw::mad::mad::mad:
|
Re: rc4wd 870k loader
Thanks Jack, and Lenny.
I removed the cab. Sure enough my speaker was damaged from over powering. It still works if I apply small amount of pressure with my finger on the speaker cone. So I looked around and there is not much choice for a 45mm speaker. I ended up getting this on ebay and I'll cut the ears off. I hope it fits. https://m.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-1-75-quo...=1721787650006 |
Re: rc4wd 870k loader
Success story. I ended up getting the speaker off of ebay (link to speaker information in previous post.) I cut the ears off and it fit perfectly into the existing opening underneath the operators seat. I noticed the edge of the speaker was being pinched and restricted of free movement against the black plastic housing. I used a dremel and cut an angle at the 4 areas i have circled in red. This allowed the speaker's edge not to touch the black plastic housing. I believe that was part of the cause for the original speaker to fail. The other part was the original speaker being 4ohm and it should be at least 8ohm according to my sound card's manual at the voltage I'm running it as.
The new pair of speakers i received don't seem to have any strength of magnet.?? Whereas the original speaker's magnet was quite present. Not sure how speakers work but I thought all speakers need magnet?? Regardless, the sound quality is more or less the same as the original. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1821/...511fa8eb_c.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/838/2...0be1138b_c.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1827/...7f666d91_c.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/913/4...c16fcb6c_c.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1801/...5c768334_c.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/838/2...ddc9197e_c.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/925/2...603a6f3b_c.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/926/4...f32be335_c.jpg |
