Re: 170" Super Stretch King Hauler
Nice truck Rod! I like how you kept the King Hauler look, blended in your own touches and came up with a truck that looks real on it's own. Also the lowboy rocks!

The project is never done!! I finally got around to cutting and bending the stainless for the catwalk. It really doesn't seem like much of an update, but somehow it took most of the afternoon! Here are a couple of pix: http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...rstretch79.jpg http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...rstretch80.jpg Looking to get a Scania fifth wheel mount and some fiberglass fenders to finish the rear end off... |

I also build G scale trains that would really look good with this smoke. |
Re: 170" Super Stretch King Hauler - Update 01/09
thanks for the comments fellahs! I'm looking forward to getting the new fenders in, painted and put on!
The smoker is a smoke generator from Harbor Models. It must run on 12v. I got it thinking the smoke was black, or at least grey, but am still very happy w/ the results! http://www.harbormodels.com/site08/m...ges/smoker.htm  |

Rod, that is one sweet build! I would love to see some pics of the smoke generator install...

Re: 170" Super Stretch King Hauler - Update 01/09
Question about smoke generator, i know that alot of the train smoke fluids are oil based, does the smoke leave an oily residue on the truck itself? I was wondering cause i know some oil's will mess up a paint job.
Also would you mind posting some pics of how you have the smoke generator installed? Mike |
