Well ,did some painting this past weekend ,found some paint at Lowe's ,Color shift from rustoleum ,like the can said paint over a black base,did that ,think it turned out pretty good. The paint shifts to blue and purple .Now to start on the chrome pieces for the cab ,and electrial.
The bed may need 2 more coats of gloss black.

Great paint work, you really can see the color change. With the way the light is hitting it there, it's blue almost green on the side but purple across the top of the hood and fender. Sweeeet!

Re: Oilfield King Hauler

Wow that's one sweet oil field rig...I'm really digging it. If I may add my two cents, I think the little details will really complete this build. I would put a set of Steve's wheels with super singles in the front and a more aggressivevtire tread patern in the rear. I'm sure you've got more planned. After all, are we ever truely finished with a build? LOL

@rockNmayhem
Works okay for a quick makeshift tank ,may get a piece of 4 or 6 inch pvc pipe with some caps soon.

@olfart
Thanks !!

@BRICKNICK
Thank you very much,may be awhile for some wheel upgrades,having to save $$$ where I can , my wife and I are expecting a baby this November,mabey next year on the upgrades .Found some small chain at Lowes store I need to pick up sometime soon to add to the headache rack .

Well congrats on the new arrival. I understand what saving is like man. My wife and I just had our wedding which was a one year struggle to save for. Now that its over I can actually get back to some of my builds. Well that is one sweet oil field rig already, so I'm looking forward to seeing it finished. Good luck

Well friends ,I guess its trailer time, I would like to build a pipe trailer from the Tamiya trailer kit ,but as mentioned in a earlier post having to save some $$$ right now,kicking around the idea of building a Frac tank trailer ,I have all the parts on hand to build it ,some cut off sheets of thin guage metal and a set of wheels and axles similar to the bruder wheels ,plenty of wire on my wire welder ,other parts .:) already have a small start ,getting all the measurements ,marking lines to cut and etc...
Here's what I have in mine ,something like this trailer,pic to follow
Its looking to be around 42 inches in lenght.

Re: Oilfield King Hauler

They do all sorts of trailers,flats,tanks,pipe trailers everything in the oilfield has rollers on the nose of the trailer so it can be wiched onto the fifthwheel plate;)

Thanks, plow jockey ,yea, the bed is really solid, all metal.
Will try and get some pics up soon of some progress of the trailer.
wieght is a issue to keep in mine ,not to much strain on the winch.

Re: Oilfield King Hauler

Well had a change of plans on the trailer build ,wanted something to haul my models more than a frac tank ,have a start on a drop deck/dovetail.Will get some more pics up soon . Still have a long way to go on it,the floor/decking will cover up all the bolts
