Re: Simple Pete Daycab
Thanks for all the comments guys, I appreciate it a lot! I wish ole Geardrive was here to see this, he'd never believe I'm actually going to paint something! My goal is to have this done much before the march meet Tim!

Re: Simple Pete Daycab
Well guys.... I sorta hit a road block... Er... Drove off a bridge last night. It turns out rustoleum paint doesn't like duplicolor primer, so I was left with a gooey mess that would have taken insane effort to fix with sub-par results. Before I threw the cab against the wall and kicked a puppy (just kidding!) I saved the rear panel of the cab to use on the next body, which is already on it's way. I wasn't 100% happy with this body anyway, so mk2 should be even better
This piece was the most difficult part about the build http://i605.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps5c0079ed.jpg On a brighter note.... I get my liscence next Friday, although I should have had it in September.... But I was too busy with work to finish up drivers Ed in time |
Re: Simple Pete Daycab
oh that stinks! I guess you can move those fenders forward now :D

Re: Simple Pete Daycab
That's unfortunate about the paint. You're not the only one who hasn't laid any paint down on a truck! Paint is overrated! :D Then again, maybe finishing a truck is too.....:p

Re: Simple Pete Daycab
Ok, got my new body in today and went to town on it after school
http://i605.photobucket.com/albums/t...pse11dfe79.jpg Hacksaw blade was my weapon of choice http://i605.photobucket.com/albums/t...psdf4dc046.jpg Made quick work of the sleeper http://i605.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps2a5ceaf1.jpg Next I broke out the razor saw to shave the headlight buckets http://i605.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps7ed07db3.jpg Then made filler pieces for the roof and headlights http://i605.photobucket.com/albums/t...psa19c0a34.jpg http://i605.photobucket.com/albums/t...pse67e3441.jpg http://i605.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps8d372a31.jpg http://i605.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps40e5cd7f.jpg And finally glued in my rear panel http://i605.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps81b4afff.jpg I also slapped on some bondo, but I didn't think you guys really need to see that. I managed to get this done over the course of about 3 hours :) Tomorrow: Sanding, sanding and...... more sanding! |
Re: Simple Pete Daycab

Re: Simple Pete Daycab
