Do they typically run the front tire pressure this low?

Actually Tom it's the tire chains that are a little on the loose side and they make it look like the tires are low. I took care of maintenance and repairs on the loader but tire chains were maintained by mine mechanics. There is a fine balance between chains to tight which wears them out faster or too loose which causes links to break and once a few go it's like dominoes and next thing you know there's a big hole in the chains.
One tire chain weighs over 15,000 lbs and costs about 40K but they save so much in tires. I worked there for 3 yrs, not one flat or worn out tire.
I'll never forget the very first day I went down in the pit to look at my first large tire chain loader. I was walking in about 3" of super fine crushed rock dust! Anywhere these machines drive just pulverize the rock. So then they water it for dust, which then turns it into slop....ahhh, I miss those days.:D:lol:

Roads are 16" wide with plenty of room to spare but going down into the pit ain't gonna work my friend. The ramp down is only about 10" wide so this would be the first time a mining haul truck that can't go into a pit!
But, then again there's a great project to do. Dig a new ramp down just for the big beast! :bounce:
What do you plan on packing btw? Need an idea of how much iron is coming and how many projects to run. Right now I'm up to 4 different tasks of digging and hauling.

Pit run - 2 excavators loading 3 trucks that haul to screener......after your D11 rips up the roots to make digging easier.

Screening plant - 1 loader or excavator feeding screen and 2-3 trucks hauling material to road work areas.

Road work - 1 dozer and a grader or compactor.

Steel plant site - lots of grass top layer I need removed by your D11 ( once done at the pit:lol:). 2 excavators or loaders loading 3 trucks which go on what I like to call a " long haul".... Haul from the very back of property all the way, 250ft , up to the front yard ditch and drop there.

Loading docks - all kinds of room for cargo, forklifts and trucks with flatbeds to run around also.

In a perfect world, this is what I see going on all at the same time.:bounce:

Good point Ford otherwise you roll up the shingles and make roll roofing ! Mario I'll bring my Mack , flat bed railroad service truck ( KH) ,low boy , 45 foot flat bed trailer and if it's done a tractor (KH) maybe a couple hundred feet of portable narrow gauge railroad and a train . Can't travel without one . Mike

Don't take them off yet Mark. Silly me, way back when I layed the shingles out I never paid attention to direction of flow. The problems my friend Chris had with his Texas bumper is when he came to a spot where the shingles were laid under- over instead of over under:confused::rolleyes:.... If you know what I mean?
As long as you stay on the right side of the road, you'll be ok.......hmmm that's going to be a problem eh?

No seriously, I plan on gorrillla taping all the road seams to get rid of the issue.

Believe me, there won't be a shingle roll up incident. It'll be a truck stops dead or bumper is gone incident....ask Chris.

Sounds great Mike! I just picked this up and could use to load rail cars. :D
Just waiting for escs to arrive and will make this full RC and shoo goo the slip clutches. ;)

Good to know your coming with a train. I'll be sure to keep that in mind. What kind of turn radius distance would you need to make a 90' turn btw? If we can make a backyard loop work.......You might be leaving it behind:D

Hey Mario.

You have no idea how much I'm Looking forward to this Event :)
Thinking of bringing five trucks and ten trailers.
I'm in to bridge building so if you like i'll bring some.
What Hotel do you recommend ?

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!

I'm really excited too Bo. It's going to be a great time!

2 places within a stones throw away and both offer parking right in front of rooms. Clean and affordable

Holiday Motel - 705-759-8608

Howard Johnson Inn - 705-253-2327

Or , there is a brand new just built 2 years ago Marriot with pool and all the fixings which is less than 10 minutes away.

Marriot Fairfield Inn - 705-253-7378

There's a couple other places nearby but I haven't gone over to see what the rooms look like yet. I wouldn't want to recommend some flea bag motel to ya.;):)

Ohh. And for sure bring bridge stuff. That will help with the railroad layout!

Hey Mike.
What size bridge would work for ya ? I think some holes might occur

Mikem 11-14-2015 04:05 PM

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!

Hi Bo I need 7x11 inches clearance little wider on a curve . The guage on the track is 1 3/4 . If you want the train over the bridge try not to do more than 2% grade , but I prefer to stay on the ground . Hope that helps . Don't forget the weight of coopers electric wheelbarrow . Mike

Supermario 11-14-2015 04:55 PM

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!

Yeah, I was thinking trucks over train would be easier then train over trucks. And the wheelbarrow can stay in its neighbourhood away from train tracks. Lol
