Re: Eagle Mach JD-98/RC4WD DXR2
OK thanks Benny. I found rc4wd to be painfully slow with dealing with them. Sucks when you buy somthing new and it's broke right from the get go.

Oh well, I like working on them so no big deal, but pay attention to this problem. David |

Re: Eagle Mach JD-98/RC4WD DXR2
Got my parts in. Will try and take some vid this week. Here's a question for the dozer owners. If you have them, how are you running your lighting kit wires? Know I can take off the tank cover, sponson's, hood manifold cover, etc. and drill some holes. Was just wondering if anyone had any tips?

Re: Eagle Mach JD-98/RC4WD DXR2
Haven't got that far yet, I ordered mine from RC4WD, and didn't get the sound or lights. Bet you could easily mount your switching unit and external battery, if that's your option for light, under the tray right under the hood because there is ton's of room!!!
The room is plenty in this outfit, but I am now building a LR634 and let me tell ya its tight, especially when I have about every option you can think of. The light's thing is a learning experience for me, so I probably will be getting with you and others for help. David |
Re: Eagle Mach JD-98/RC4WD DXR2
Yea, lots of room on the DXR2, no need for external power for lights(runs off 5V from RX), just need a Y splitter if you want to go eagle light system. All channels used on RX. I went off Ch 9 which also had the BEC. Not sure if that will effect voltage or not. Got the heads up it should be good to go from Tang at Eagle so I've got an argument if things go black.

Any videos of the dozer working yet?

Re: Eagle Mach JD-98/RC4WD DXR2
Not yet, we actually got some winter style weather so ground froze up. I messesd with it a bit a week or so ago but didn't take any vid, performed pretty well. When ground warms up will take some vid.

Sorry no good vid yet, hopefully tomorrow unless it rains. Trying out Rick Grimes from "Walking Dead" to operate the D10.

Re: Eagle Mach JD-98/RC4WD DXR2
Finally shot a vid today. Material was wet after a good rain the night before. Nothing real exciting and a bit long winded, so grab a beer and let me know if there's anything specific you'd like to see if this sucker will do it (within reason...)
You'll hear the one planetary still chattering like it's not meshing correctly, just can't figure what's up with it yet. Gonna operate through another batt or 2 then take them apart to see if any unusual or uneven wear is visible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkXK6eBJG0A |
Re: Eagle Mach JD-98/RC4WD DXR2
Hey Benny how do you find the blade right mess and staying level? The blade seemed to be higher on the right or is it adjuastable?
|
Re: Eagle Mach JD-98/RC4WD DXR2
You have tilt control, just touchy. You can also adjust on the stay bar, though that adjustment affects tilt and angle of attack (pitch) on the blade. For the most part if you see anything working in the wrong it's probably user issue on the TX and not the machine. If your playing on a relatively level area it'll hold, other wise you have to adjust your blade accordingly. My play area is full or roots, rocks, sticks, snakes, frogs, etc. so it's hard to get a clear control to compare. Never really see anything completely level.

Front end disassembled for Paint. The hood and blade cylinders will be going black. Also some fuel for the operators...it was a good day!

Re: Eagle Mach JD-98/RC4WD DXR2
Oh man I don't know what looks better that dozer with some dirt on it or that meat. That's it I'm firing up the egg for supper tonight.

Re: Eagle Mach JD-98/RC4WD DXR2
Did you end up firing up the egg?
