Re: My Hobby Room
I like the shelves you have for displaying your locomotives and rolling stock, very very neat solution. Love the sword peterbilts, I cracked when I saw one, got myself a grey triaxle pete with the nelson ramp trailer, difficult to come by over the pond.

Re: My Hobby Room
Thanks everybody! I was able to add three more red ones to the cabinet today, the 1066 white stripe, 1456 with rops and the 6588 2+2.

Re: My Hobby Room
Nice IH collection. I have a couple red and green tractors but mainly my shelves are stuffed with yellow ones--Caterpillar. Haven't counted lately but somewhere around 350pcs.

Re: My Hobby Room
Great collection of red Precisions, Craig. I never thought I'd get into collecting the 1/16 scale models that much. When I was growing up, I stuck to the 1/64 scale machines, because they took up less space, but when I saw the 3688 2+2, I was hooked and now I have 7 of these Precision models. An 8th soon.
Thanks for sharing the photos. By the way, judging from the rain cap on the 1466, it looks like you forgot to shut her down, after making room for the new IHs! :D |

Re: My Hobby Room
I wanted a white stripe 1066 with a rops and canopy and Ertl has not built us one so I built my own.
http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...025/IH/048.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...025/IH/050.jpg Had to trade some green tractors to get the extra 1066 and the 1456 rops and fenders but is was well worth it to me. |
Re: My Hobby Room
kinda reminds me of my dad's old Cockshutt tractor when i was growing up. more so the fenders and lights.
also i have a 8588 rc from back in the early 80's. not sure where the remote is though. it goes forward all the time and you hit the one button on the remote to make it stop and reverse/turn. |
Re: My Hobby Room
They say there is a fine line between hobby and obsession. I say they are just jealous. That is a very fine collection. I have been to some farm toy shows and the models aren't that nice or displayed that well. Well done sir, well done.

Thank you, I really appreciate that! A couple weeks ago I added a couple of shelves, the Magnums now have their own home. At the time of these photos I had made room for the 5488 but it had not made it here yet. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...toyroom004.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...toyroom006.jpg Also got my Steiger off of the floor and my Allis Chalmers Precisions more in view. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...toyroom005.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...toyroom011.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...toyroom012.jpg |
