Re: All aboard..
when it comes to making a turn every bit counts specially for a bus this long :)

Re: All aboard..
for the siding you can make your own if you have a lathe
i used to make the dies for domed silver wire out of steel but with thin alumium you could maybe use alumium round stock anyway make a cylinder about two to three inches in diameter your choice cut them both the same length IE i use some 2" stock and cut it four inches long and drill a hole clear though them both but with one hole smaller now you need to draw up what the finished siding would look like from a end IE ^^^^^^^^ but in your scale lol then chuck up one roller and make a positive that is the one that has the raised bumps on it just go slow and check and recheck it when its done do the other roller but i negative and this one is harder as it needs to be as close as it can to fit now make a frame and mount them so the top one adjusts up and down put the rollers on axles and make the top one turn with a crank i know i know it seems like a lot of work but if you just sit and think about it and you are handy it will click or if you have a mill you can cut two plates and use a arbor press sold and/or gave most of that stuff away when we moved down to Florida so i can't show pictures but will look on the inter-net grumpy |
Re: All aboard..

Re: All aboard..
here is moreee!
think i need some spacers for the front axel to pull the wheels out a bit more its very close to scale but I want them to stick out a bit further and then ill be 100% satisfied http://i581.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/DSC09878.jpg http://i581.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/DSC09879.jpg http://i581.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/DSC09880.jpg http://i581.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/DSC09881.jpg http://i581.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/DSC09882.jpg http://i581.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/DSC09883.jpg http://i581.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/DSC09885.jpg |

This is coming along great..Keep up the great work at the rate you are going you'll be done soon..

Re: All aboard..
Nice job so far and really fast! You should put a sound system in it and play Weird Al's "Another one rides the Bus" when it's finished. :)

Re: All aboard..
Instead of wideners why not widen the axle itself. You seem to be a styrene master, and I'm sure you could build an extension to widen the axle.
|
Re: All aboard..
i'd have IHBUILDER make you some spacers to go between the hub and the rim. he did the rims right? should have no problem matching them up.
|
Re: All aboard..
I'd leave the front alone..... Themany I have seen they are tucked in just like you have...... I like the style bus you chose.....
A build of a different nature for sure..... |
