Hey Brel, have you tried using a heat gun on the tubing, before it goes on the hydraulic fitting's? Look's like fun!

Re: is it a tipper or a hook lift truck
Wow, that works effortlessly. Nice job.

Re: is it a tipper or a hook lift truck
Turning out great Brel. The vid prooves clearly that is is a very tough kit and lifts 7KG like it's nothing, very smooth. Fantastic adaptation of the container to a roller, the bearings and brackets you made look like proper scale castors. Be proud.

Re: is it a tipper or a hook lift truck
Very cool build! I loved watching your video of things in operation. The way the suspension squats a little, as the tub is pulled off the ground is just awesome. That looks like a a lot of fun to run. To bad we don't see more of these kits around. They must be hard, or impossible to get, especially in the states! Thanks for sharing this build.

Re: is it a tipper or a hook lift truck
Looking good,
With regard to the springs, I put an extra leaf inbetween the Tamiya ones. I used the springy banding that comes on packing cases to make the extra leaves. We will have to have a "skip fest" one day.Think yours will out lift mine though but at least ,as you say, there are not many hook loaders around in r/c world. |
Re: is it a tipper or a hook lift truck
Amazing work! I love the merc body on there

Re: is it a tipper or a hook lift truck
I replaced the big leimbach pump and tank with one from ScaleArt trucks
http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/e...k/GEDC0201.jpg comparison between the two pumps and tanks http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/e...psf91958e7.jpg and after fitting the ScaleArt pump and tank http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/e...psf675f7fa.jpg as you can see from this shot the pump and it's motor are hidden in the tank http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps7be55923.jpg |

Re: is it a tipper or a hook lift truck
I bought a set of mud guards of ebay as a crimbo present to one's self, to hope fully arrive before Christmas, well they did not do so, they arrived this afternoon (1330 hrs) and two hours later they are fitted to the truck

Re: is it a tipper or a hook lift truck
I have decided to rebuild the truck and remove the box off the rear behind the cab and replace the Tamiya MFU with a servonaut M20+ because the pump runs at 12V and it is playing havoc with the electrics trying to operate the pump at 12v and run the MFU at 7.2v
all I have done at the moment is swapped the running gear and fitted a single speed gearbox to the truck because I may not have enough channels on the planet T7 radio so I may have to get another TX/RX with more channels and the servonaut speed controllers is controlled very differently to a Tamiya trucks MFU LOL http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/e...psdfec4196.jpg |
Re: is it a tipper or a hook lift truck
now the fun begins with the servonaut boards arriving this morning at 9am UK time
we have from the left the M20+ the SMT and the original BMA board that was fitted with the Tamiya MFU just got to figure out what goes where in order to get the sounds to work http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps5cb5226c.jpg |
