Your truck is very cool!! My friend works at an oil rig and he sends me pics all the time of them moving the rig and the trucks they use. love the creativity behind your build.

Your friend is indeed fortunate to see these trucks for real.
The model is proving to be great fun winching loads on and using the gin poles to load other people's trailers. Just waiting the right time for one of my UK buddies and I to meet up and play, he has a King Hauler with a winch and a flat trailer with a rolling tailboard. It was his gen set that I stole the idea from but don't tell him! He works for Cummins so I put the Detroit stickers on for a bit of fun. One of my other trucks has Cummins stickers on it to keep him happy!

Truck is a whole load of fun, very few people in the UK have seen anything like it.

Re: my oil field truck

It gained another use last weekend as a recovery truck rescuing a broken down MAN . The period of rain we had showed up a builder's mistake , the planks on the deck swelled and lifted a little, this time I left a small gap beteewen some of them and put a coat of satin varnish on them, so all I need now is another rainy day .I suspect I will not have a long wait the way this year is going.

The MAN had a strange problem, the driver had installed a Carson 2.4 radio which did not seem to work too well among the trees but was fine when we were back in the open again. The rest of us run either Futaba, Spektrum or Planet 2.4 GHz with no problems. Even my old 40 meg set is fine, weird or what?
