So what radio do you have in this frankenstein?

If you're gonna be working this hybrid around the clock, then maybe you should tune the mix on the hyds so the pump only activates when needed.

Thanks Guys!
Yea Claus, that's a must! Every new machine I puchased, that was the first thing we would do.Weld hooks on the bucket.
So figured might as well put one on the toy version.
You got it Brian! Barco launger snow plowin!:D:D Controlled from next to the fireplace!
Joe,I have a on/off switch on the radio for the pump. On a long push,I'll turn off the pump,& release the pressure on lift cylinders. So it acks like a float position.;)
Thanks Joe, for helpin me come up w/a name for this mutt! (Frankie)I...LIKE....IT!
Spudd, not to worry! Ole-Joe has a thread or two going!:D
Might just turn into the ball breakin olympics!:D:D
Anyhows,got the carry blade mounted.

great work on the snow-pusher Freddie! You're making quite the snow removal fleet over the years...what ever happened to the f-350 that you were building w/ the front/rear plows? Last I remember you were pretty much functional, but never did button things all up and get to paint and detailing.

She's ready for paint except for the fenders on the bed. Had a real problem getting them to fit right. Now she's in a box waiting for my move to my new place. Don't have my booth set up anymore.:(
Will thanks!
Well here's a quick vid of Frankie in the dirt.

Adding a rotary broom to your box scraper to get the finer stuff, have it pivot up/down like the the grapple on your bucket. ;)

Build a box on the back of your loader to simulate an engine to power the broom, or could be a ballast box for added traction... the added box to house extra batteries, quick change so you can plow for hrs without waiting for a recharge. ;)

Re: Perfect budget loader,A.K.A Frankie! Workin vids!

That's awesome, Freddy! You are really on a roll with this thing. The snow pusher looks really good, and so does your grapple bucket. Both seem to work just like they should. Nice videos too! By the way, in the blade pusher movie, I saw some smoke rolling across the screen at about the 23-25 second mark! Something on fire? :D

Re: Steiger loader,A.K.A Frankie! Workin vids!

Very impressive Freddy looks like it works great! The box blade looks great too you should just do a quick attach mount on it so you don't have to take the bucket off that is how most guys here run them so when they are done pushing they can do some moving of piles if you need any picks they make them here in my town they have probly 20 or so sitting out front for everything for a skid to really big pay loader ones I think the biggest is 20 wide..

FreddyGearDrive 11-11-2011 05:10 PM

Re: Steiger loader,A.K.A Frankie! Workin vids!

Yea paul, didn't want to make the first one to wide, don't know what she'll push yet in the snow. If it pushes it like nothing,I'll build a bigger one,& put this one on a tractor.
Well Joe's got me thinking.
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...uckPics947.jpg
Finding this broom the right size,is the hardest part of the build.
So it all down hill now.

Thanks Guys!
Grainfarmer,I'm willin to bet that out of the thousands of toy tractors ertle sold. This one will get the most use out of it before it goes to the garbage. Now just think of all the ones that are just sitting out side rustin away waiting for someone to come & play with it. Where as this one will always be loved, sheltered, rust free & used. Not to mention a movie star! :D
Just what every new toy tractor sitting in a box, hopes will be their destiny. So I'm not to sure about that poor Steiger thing.;)
Joe,all the batteries are tied together to act as one big battery,7.2v.
I've yet to run this thing dead,so far on just two batteries 3600mil/v she went 30 min & still was running strong. Now that's not running the pump the whole time. It won't be long,& I'll know how long she's good for at a crack.
Well here's some progress on the broom.
First a place to but some bearings.

Dayum Freddy, you knocked that one out the park!

Make another for me please, seriously. :)

And could you add a box in front to catch the debris from the broom? Like a dust pan, have it servo operated to dump ;)

BINGO!
All's I need is some augers, been going to every toy site I can find to see if there is a toy out there that has the right augers for the build.
There's a couple of combines that look like the augers would work, but there is no way I'm spending over $300 for two plastic augers.
Was going to make them out of alum, but what a pain. But if this is what I have to do,so be it. Already cut out one section to see if I can pull it off,& man does it look rough!
So if anyone has some plastic augers layin around they want to get rid off,Please drop me a p/m. They have to dump in the middle. So there is a left thread on one side & a right hand on the other side.
Thanks guys!

Just so you boys know, the broom is on a fixed angle. No room in the machine for more goodies to power angle.Unless the interior goes.

Re: Steiger loader,with Biddles vid!

If you "fixed" the broom solid to the loader arms and used the tilt cyl for angling?

The flighting on Ken's link looks pretty tall; double augers, might work pretty good. If you cut the auger in half & turned the flighting around, would that give you rt & lt hand?

dirtpusher9 11-18-2011 08:02 PM

Re: Steiger loader,with Biddles vid!

Why not use washers for the augers. Just cut the washer and twist it, then weld or solder it to the shaft. Keep lining them up and you have an auger.

SonoranWraith 11-19-2011 02:26 PM

Re: Steiger loader,with Biddles vid!

Maybe some guide wheels so you get the broom consistent height for every pass? I like dust skirting idea too. Looks and works great. :)
