Re: Gravel boxes for your King Hauler
I built this one for a custom day cab Aeromax. It will be shined up some more once it arrives at it's new home.:)
It's the first time I have added a spill plate to my standard style box. I think it looks good even though I was a bit apprehensive at first. http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...psrw2abko8.jpg http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...psc8egnya5.jpg http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...psniztikat.jpg |
Re: Gravel boxes for your King Hauler
Reg, I love it. I really appreciate you going out your way to make the last minute changes that I asked for. I always dreamed for owning and rc dump truck and thanks to you it's actually happening. Thanks a whole lot again for everything Reg.

Re: Gravel boxes for your King Hauler
What's the purpose of the spill plate?... hauling moist dirt, it'll interfere with the tailgate closing & the door won't lock

Re: Gravel boxes for your King Hauler
The spill plate is mostly used for asphalt when backed up to a paving machine,
preventing asphalt from flowing over the hopper in front of the paving machine when tipping. And it protect the rear end of the truck, mud flaps and lights. :) |
Re: Gravel boxes for your King Hauler
That makes sense. The last truck I noticed one on was dumping asphalt into a hopper on the paving machine. I see lots of trailers have them and I assumed it was to protect the goodies on the back since they are so flat on the rear panel. Tail lights right below the tailgate without protection not good one...

Re: Gravel boxes for your King Hauler
Not that I own anyone an explanation on why I asked Reg to put a spill plate on my box, but this is how the dump truck that we have here are. As mentioned above it's to divert whatever material that we may be carrying away from the rear undercarriage of the truck. Especially when carrying loads of stones. But, I am sure that you already knew that.

FB is nothing but trouble and a waste of time. I was into it way back when it started, then left for 4 years until some RC people started things up and that's my only use for it.

Re: Gravel boxes for your King Hauler
I joined FB when Sandy said I needed something else to look for trucks and the 1/14 site came up and she joined for me , while my body is repairing its ribs after an abrupt impact with planet . Mike

Re: Gravel boxes for your King Hauler
I have been busy working on this pair KH boxes for the last few days. I believe one box is sold but the other is up for grabs($725US). As per usual it comes with all mounting hardware and limit switches on the lift. An ESC or battle switch of your choice is required to run the motor. If someone is interested let me know and we can discuss powder coat color. I may take the chance and have it done black this week though as that seems to be the most popular.

I don't believe I posted any build pictures of this one over here(only Facebook) but since it's almost Halloween here you go....
http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...psu71mg4zs.jpg I have most of it put back together but I'm waiting on some paint to dry on the tarp motor. I'll finish it up tomorrow and post a couple more pictures before it goes into the mail. |
