Re: Liebherr 574
Makes perfect sense. Thank you.

Re: Liebherr 574
Hi Reg,
Are you able to let me know a bit more details on the motors you used? i.e rpm, torque, price, where did you get em? I was looking on the dx.com website..there are some good deals, but having a hard time to decide..I am assuming you have all 4 controlled by a single esc...any advice would be appreciated...thanks! Blair |
Re: Liebherr 574
Hey Blair, I bought the motors off of eBay but I have also bought them off of Amazon and from Robot Shop. These last ones from eBay look exactly like the rest but have different motors(windings I guess). I forget the numbers off the top of my head but lets just say the normal motors I use are a something, something S and the new motors are just something, something. Needless to say they do not have the same power even though they look identical. They do however seem to have an adequate amount for this particular model though, I just would have liked more.lol Anyway, what I am running are 25mm diameter, 77rpm, 6 volt motors. I can dig up a link to the ones I purchased if you like. So many sellers have the same or nearly the same stuff for sale. I bought these last ones because they were under $10 a piece and had free shipping. I won't buy them again but they are doing the job. I also have the same type in my Bruder Mack but use 133rpm ratio. Hope this rambling helps...

Re: Liebherr 574
Hey Reg, thanks for the info I seen allot of good deals too for under $10, just got to pick one! lol.
Cheers! |
Re: Liebherr 574
OK so this one is for you Mario! One hand crafted, TIG welded, stainless steel exhaust tip to replace the repulsive, ugly, plastic, Gonzo nosed factory piece on my loader.lol
Bo's size reference pic http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...psonopibbh.jpg After welding it up I turned down a piece of dowel to suit. http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...pseukzwcb3.jpg Then finally the new pipe attached http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...psbcfxzu5o.jpg http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...psckqggdd3.jpg http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...psh1orycea.jpg |

I was also playing with this afterwards... It has some bugs but they are only slightly annoying...

Re: Liebherr 574
Reg, you need a diode in the lead of the beeper. To make it quieter, put a band aid over it!
Cheers! |

Re: Liebherr 574
Reg, I think you needed a higher voltage rating on the diode,
Here's a short page on them, http://www.ehow.com/how_7433946_choose-right-diode.html Your new setup works great! Cheers! |
Re: Liebherr 574
Nice work on the Bruder, I am in the midst of ordering parts to convert mine. I like your idea for the motors because I too am somewhat of a hoarder of small items and have some old stainless steel solar light tubes.
My question to you is how did you fasten the motors in the tubes so they don't spin in the tubes under torque? |
Re: Liebherr 574
Thanks. The tubes are split to fit over the motors and I just used electrical tape the close it up tight. On the rollers I converted recently, I used the same setup but instead of tape I used some really heavy shrink tube. Either way seems to hold the motors fine with no slippage.

Re: Liebherr 574
Perfect.. Thanks for the help.

Re: Liebherr 574
If you don't mind me asking. What actuators are those? How do the esc's hook up to the actuators and motors, and also what controller/receiver/transmitter are you using?

hmmm thats what i got to look forward to next then, i have to go to my fathers tomorrow to use his mill.

Re: Liebherr 574
It's not so bad when you are just doing it for yourself. I have had a few requests to make these buckets again but it really isn't cost effective for me or the customer when I am hand machining each tooth.lol It's much cheaper to buy a mass produced bucket from Magom HRC or do what you are doing and make your own. I would need to charge $250+ for a bucket and no one will want to pay that because there are cheaper alternatives.
Keep up the great work on your conversion! |
Re: Liebherr 574
Hi there,
I hope it is ok to post as form old from 2011. What a great build. Iam going to do the same. I realise someone already asked the question. But iam looking at the Actuators but cant seem to find those ones can you please direct me to the site that you bought from. I found this site http://www.firgelli.com/L12_R_Linear...ol_p/l12-r.htm but can't find those sizes you stated. Greatly appreciated Brina |
Re: Liebherr 574
I'm using the non RC type. L12-S http://www.firgelli.com/L12_S_Micro_...es_p/l12-s.htm

Re: Liebherr 574
Hi RCP57, thanks heaps for that. For a wonder what stroke and ratio would you recommend and how many will i need. Thanks Brian

Re: Liebherr 574
Nice Reg, just looked through this thread

Re: Liebherr 574
Thanks Calvin. It is one of my favorite toys.

Re: Liebherr 574
Made a offer on a carson track loader. Guy said he'll get back to me, if he doesn't take it I'm going to get the new Magom all metal 574 wheel loader.

Re: Liebherr 574
Reg,
I had to go thru the entire thread again, really nice job! Love the rims and the bucket! Question for you, did you consider separating the left and right side motors and adding a mix on the steering to control wheel spin? Wonder if anyone has done it that way? Would it add anything to the maneuverability or traction when pushing into a pile? Thanks for all the info! Jim |
