I cut mine on the hood mold line. Then glue tabs to the
Inside. Unless you want it to open. Ihb bumper bracket
Lines up under the hood perect fat steer tires rub the
Bumper in turns but you can adjust the axle back a little

This is exactly what I need to know, thank you Russ. Hard to tell where the cab is going to sit with this hood not actually having a cab to play with. I bought a second set of the flat springs and Espeefan chucked them ip in his mill and moved the axle mounting holes one hole forward (hope to get them this weekend). I noticed you did the exact thing here but you used custom rails where i am trying to stick with stock rails and stock mounting holes. We'll see if it works out.

Sounds like you need a bumper that is milled out on the back side.

Re: Just Another Peterbilt......Half Breed.

I met with Espeefan this weekend, He brought me my front springs that he did some work to and He also brought along a Wedico Peterbilt cab to see how it looked on my chassis. It actually looked pretty good, the Shapeways hood fit the cab very well except for the body line on the cab skirt. A Wedico cab is what I had planned on using all along but the $500 price tag and not being a perfect match had me looking for another option. Enter Russ. Russ and I came to a deal tonight on this here cab and hood;

Looking forward to seeing it on the chassis and making some progress but for now I will leave you with this...

Those stack need some work, right now they are wider than the sleeper.

Pretty easy mod with these stacks, just take a disc cutter to cut a bit off the ends to make them hug the body closer. Good progress so far

Re: Just Another Peterbilt......Half Breed.

I have been doing a lot of mock up work tonight, things didn't just fit together. Even though I had moved the front axle froward a bunch I still had to move it more by putting together some different front spring shackles. The sleeper is on backwards for now because I have to sand down the shroud around the walk through, it is too tight against the cab. I also need to play around with the front spring ride height. I have a bunch of extra spacers in it for now, I want to lower it some. This truck will not be a lowrider by any means but want it lower than it sits right now.
Don't worry the ugly stock bumper is not staying, just test fitting. The cab has the skirts along the bottom so my stacks won't work without notching them.

Moved things around and was able to get things fitting much better. Moved front bumper ahead slightly, lower ride height and got the sleeper where it is supposed to be. Really liking these body parts.

Thanks Brandon! Using this body is much better than me trying to modify a king Hauler body, when it comes to body work I'm a shoemaker. As for the other models, I've been a long time toy tractor, truck and train junkie.;)

Here's a piss poor update! The Red Transmission is gone, I went with this transmission instead, wider planetary with 15:1 first gear and 10:1 second gear. The red one was 16:1 and 4:1, I doubt I ever need a 4:1 second gear.

For now I added this aluminum bumper and bumper hitch. Still thinking about one of Steve's work truck bumpers but not sure if I can get these meats to clear it. I didn't get the hitch on perfectly straight so more than likely this bumper is not staying anyways.

I was really thinking about getting that grill setup but went with just the grill option again. I like the sqaure lights better. But your rig is coming together very nicely I will say.

Thank you very much! I have double squares on my Wedico so double rounds are a good change for me.

I may have to use this thread for reference on my build. Your Pete is looking really good, but wat makes it a half breed, I'm just curious.
