http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psexdnodt8.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psmpwhpdcr.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ps9uljlewi.jpg I intend to make another cross dump trl that'll piggyback on this one, and maybe another 3 or 4 more cross dumps in the future... it'll be great for long hauling, gravel my whole yard. :D |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Driven rear axles?
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Yes, but with needle roller clutches... 8x8 going forward, 8x4 reverse
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
That's interesting. What about your trucks? Have they been retired after many years of service?
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Looking good joe, you need a way to haul stuff and I need a way to load stuff:). Lol!! Hope planting season has been good, two of our fields that a farmer is and panting have only been 2/3s planted. Lower parts are just too wet. Been one of the wettest years ever. I can't even get into the two fields to mow with the big tractor. Too soft and too deep.
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
That looks like a great project Joe. Look forward to seeing the progress of the build
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Retired I suppose Emil, the small tired vehicles don't get around that well, and the capacity is much less than the Fumotec trks. ;)
I updated my farmer thread last week Cooper... it was crazy wet 1st part of May, a lot of wheel slippage throughout seeding, got stuck bad at the end, now 6 weeks later it's crazy dry & my crop is coming up patchy b/c of excessive compaction during seeding & virtually no rainfall to keep the soil mellow... it's gonna be another yr of  Here's more progress for you Evan http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psae6qdpmp.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psif4lapas.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psyxfh4nlz.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psywqkiwuo.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psnlriml6z.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psgnmezl43.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...pspxdm0toy.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psv5da5fii.jpg Get some 1 1/4" flat bar tomorrow to make the gates, plus another order of 1/4" square stock (5 joints) should arrive tomorrow to start making the next trl... took an entire 22 foot length of 1/4" to make this trl  A trip to the city on Saturday to the farmer sex shop to get tools & supplies for the Lil Giants shop & farm, I picked up this band saw on sell for $300, it'll make short work of cutting steel for the next 3-4 trls. ;) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psnpdk377b.jpg Even has an attachment for it to make it a vertical bandsaw :) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psqoakem2y.jpg |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Looking good Joe, I'm curious how you are going to attach the gate and make it move with the actuonix actuators.
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Looking good Joe. Most people don't realize how much material goes into building this stuff, especially any type of trailer! Are you coming out here in July?
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Looks heavy duty! Nice work.
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
About a month away, eh Reg? ...hadn't thought about it till now ...come hang with you this time or is Mario coming this yr?
I got to looking at my handywork with plastic sheet the next morning & 1st thought was what an incredible waste of space!!! cut my capacity in half. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psxj6v4jwp.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psipdd6ysg.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psijmolzex.jpg Couple more roundy bits to make in the lathe & then see about how to make it all work with one actuator. :) |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Nice progress! Your going to be able to haul a lot more material with this trailer

Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
More Door's Haulin' This is just awesome. Love it ! Looking forward to the test-vid...........crunch crunch..........Do you got one other basement to dig out we don't know about ???

Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
That's looking good Joe. How much material will that sucker hold?
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
The trailer is turning out great Joe. Yes the show is on July 15-16 I believe. I may only attend on Saturday this year but we'll see how things are going in the shop.
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
This is looking good Joe, how many can you hook and pull at a time do you think?
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
In the last pic the trl is sitting on a 20L pail Evan, I'm betting it'll hold most of that. I made the height of the trl the same as the B50 adt so a loader can fill it, but I also plan to make 2" cheaters for more capacity with the hoe loading.
I guess we'll wait & see Reg... Relying on just 8wd drive Kent? ...hoping two more trls, started on two at once again yesterday... if not, add more powered axles. ;) Farted away the afternoon putting together the rear of the trl & trying to get two rx's to bind together... started with an AR8000 & AR610 (both DSMX), didn't work. Then tried the AR6115e with the AR8000, didn't work. Two AR8000's together, that worked... though that seems like kind of a waste... I came across some good deals on ebay last February, picked up AR9020's, AR8000's & AR610's for 40-70% off from hobbyshop listed prices. :) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ps5h6vwhwb.jpg |

Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
That looks great Joe. That's s very healthy amount of material it holds also
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
She looks a bit like a really old horse in that one picture.lol Shame to ruin the paint with more welding but an easy fix with an added brace I'm guessing.
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
It sure looks good! Looking forward to see it in action on YT :D

Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Try a strip of duck tape over that moving accordion .
Cheers! |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Ding Ding Winner Winner... that's exactly what happened Reg ;)
Masking tape Neil. ;) Upload a vid tonite Emil. :) Made some mods http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ps4z3lchux.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...pslvcyugwu.jpg Lowered the neck an inch http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psdu4rgvyr.jpg Lifted the rears 3/4 inch & shoved it forward 2 inches http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psqwpa4wuu.jpg Now the belly clears with room to spare http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psgpf4wch6.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ps5hq13ubm.jpg 3 not heaping loads on cross dump empties the screening bin vs 4 full loads & a 1/3 on B50 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ps4b6q45su.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psfszlpwyl.jpg Part throttle, the front & rears will give & take fairly evenly... sharp turn at full throttle = CRASH!!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psamvpwyn2.jpg |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Wow, didn't catch the fact that you've gotten one more Bell tractor :)
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Yeah, the other one has hyds. I will eventually make the other one a dedicated lowboy hauler strong enough to haul that 95lbs D9 anywhere. ;)
These Bell tractors are pretty cheap trucks. |

Got my cross dump trl operational, works pretty good, but still have a few bugs to work out... https://youtu.be/6IwFAgX6Yfw |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
I'm not understanding what is included in the tractor kit . Hydraulics in the kit or not ?
Nice job on the dump wagon . |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Very cool, looks like that hauls way moro than the old dumps!
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Someone should invent a color flux core for welding so the paint doesn't get ruined! :p
Jim |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Steve, no hyds included with original 4206 kit.
Indeed Frizzen, move a lot of dirt per hour with this rig... but having issues with brushless motors in the tractor vs brushed motors in the trl, only at full throttle can I get them to work smoothly together... sometimes  I was going to switch tractor to brushed, but the axle housings are too narrow for the longer brushed motor/gearhead... would rather have all brushed b/c then it will travel 20% faster & one 2x25 Sabertooth will control all 8 wheel motors vs trying to sync 8 individual escs/brushless wheel motors... currently only have one extra B50 axle for brushed motors, of course  ...just be a matter of having to drill & tap the B50 axle housing to bolt it into the narrower 4206 body. The tires will stick out a 1/4 inch more each side... ahhh, aint scratchbuilding fun?! :p :D Your million dollar idea Jim, good luck with it :p :D |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Hey Joe !
This is really fun to watch how you ditch the smaller units for the mega machines. but still in the right size of our " Hobby size sort of scale " Crunch Crunch........The size of your real world day to day work might play into your Smaller scale world.......which makes me feel your coming down to Cabin Fever really soon in your own tunnel. Is that true Joe ? Please Please ! I'll meet you half ways. lol.:) |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Hey Joe any update on your attachments from tobias braeker? How are they holding up quick attach still works? How's the glueing holding up?
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Oh my god, it's wores than i thought.
Photofucket filled his basement back in! |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
My layout has gotten much bigger Bo, and it's on two levels now, so bigger equip - less walking. ;)
Evan, everything of Mr Braeker's products continue to work great! He sent me 2 bottles of Locktite super glue, haven't used up the 1st bottle yet :) Just built the last attachment, the U blade last weekend... might get another U blade for my Izzy dozer, it's the perfect width for it, just be a lil head scratching how to attach it. https://s24.postimg.cc/ftkre3175/001.jpg https://s24.postimg.cc/p2mxo7a35/002.jpg https://s24.postimg.cc/k59d33841/003.jpg Almost feels that way frizzen :( ...moving forward, try a new 3rd party service. |
