Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Gave this one a try
http://postimages.org/ I didn't make an account, just uploaded pics & then grabbed the links to post here. Seems simple enough. |

Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Wow, and wow.. that dozer blade is a work of art. If this can help on your next assembly, I just saw something about baking soda can be sprinkled on loctite 495 and it will instantly cure. Haven't tried myself and not sure which glue he sent you but it needs to be a cyanoacrylate to work with the BS. Using small layers of glue and bs is supposed to be much stronger than just the glue alone... Good for filling gaps n such.

Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
That new trailer is awesome Joe! What are the dimensions of the box? How are your crops? All of our wheat had Mosaic, so we had 30-40% yield, and ugly shriveled kernels.
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Thanx for the tip Jason
Thanx Parker. Trl dimensions... I think it's about 9"x14"... it'll hold a 5ga pail of dirt ;) The past month occasionally been screening lumps from the basement pile, moved a couple of cubes by now. What a difference making the screener cage from aluminum, 5-6lbs less hanging out on the end of the boom, can really load 'er up & not tip over the hoe. :) https://s26.postimg.cc/ldyzpeo4p/025.jpg https://s26.postimg.cc/6gqioeaw9/026.jpg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2zJRY5GiYU |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Track trouble, 2mm pin shear on one side & good thing it happened b/c I discovered 2mm pin on other side slid out of place& was carving into gear case
https://s26.postimg.cc/eyjqhkyrt/001.jpg https://s26.postimg.cc/sgqmtvax5/002.jpg Added 5" cheater boards to the cross dump today. Surprisingly stable, I thought it would wobble from being top heavy... maxxing out the 8wd power to ascend the dirt ramp, lead axle spinning while the other 3 are flexing sidewalls to the max, doesn't show up clearly in the vid... Parker, the dimensions of the box are 19"x9,5". https://s26.postimg.cc/kqjuoq8ll/003.jpg https://s26.postimg.cc/cjrux5iix/004.jpg https://youtu.be/Eooj3fgCpps |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Those are some serious hungry boards.
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
The screener bucket is really neat, glad you got it working better now.
Wow, so the belly dump with the cheater boards is now holding like 10 gallons of dirt in a load? |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Screener bucket has been working very well! No, wouldn't be 10us ga... 8,5 - maybe 9, albeit the cheaters are the same height as the main trl sides, there's the capacity of the hoppers & the peak above the trl that is not doubled.
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Hauling out back of shop... sunny & 22, not many of these great days left before that ugly white stuff shows up again.

Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
I was so engrossed in watching as you loaded that when you pulled away and the trailer started to slide in the fines I let out a gasp thinking the whole thing was going over.
Didn’t you have that set up as a set of doubles? Sounds like live stock in the back ground, thought you got rid of your livestock. |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
I'm very impressed too Kent with the trl's stability, such a high center of gravity doesn't fizz on it much at all. The axles width is 11,5". That was the original plan, doubles - maybe even triples, but the current length of this trl is 33 inches makes a wide corner.
I sold my herd in Dec 2011, those are my neighbor's cows, close to 300 in the corral, just brought them over late afternoon, lock them up over night so they all find the only water source, turned them out this morning on 700ac durum stubble... my patchy germination was the worse in this field, it's the heavist land (gumbo) on the farm, what germinated later was shallow rooted, fell flat on the ground when it ripened too low for the combine to get it. Providing it doesn't get too cold too soon there's lots there to keep the cows fed for a couple months. Moved out about 2/3 of a cube last night & this morning, about 2hrs total time https://s26.postimg.cc/chls3pigp/006.jpg |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Hauled out a few tons of dirt today!
https://s25.postimg.cc/aex4lbgin/002.jpg Just got this sliver of fines to do tomorrow https://s25.postimg.cc/672cc3wy7/003.jpg And this pile of crush... big weather change come Sunday & they're forecasting snow for Monday - Tuesday  https://s25.postimg.cc/s68qzc0xr/004.jpg Get all this dirt out & then have a couple hrs of trimming to do with the dozer... STEVEY! when are you gonna start on them tracks for my dozers?! |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
I was just going to text you about them . I've got some test prints coming then to to get a quote on precision casting verses my machining time . My machining will not have the detail of the bolts in them . I'm aiming to make the tracks last practically forever and you just replace the pins as they wear .

Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Hauled a lot of dirt out of the basement last couple months
https://s18.postimg.cc/5e45ekdkp/015.jpg Used the ol GL to catch the lumps from the screener & pile in the opposite corner for the B50 to haul out later. The tunnel ramp is lil steep for the old GL, plus it only hauls half as much as the B50. Once the 'fines' pile upstairs got wide enough to use the bellydump again, parked the GL & hauled lumps direct with B50. https://s18.postimg.cc/hsqxevxd5/012.jpg https://s18.postimg.cc/oj7eob53d/013.jpg Last couple days been crushing dirt lumps & rocks https://s18.postimg.cc/eyns1fnh5/009.jpg https://s18.postimg.cc/6t5q39jsp/008.jpg Monster pile of fines https://s18.postimg.cc/u7dpf66ux/007.jpg |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Very neat and organised operation. I like when the ole GL comes in to play. Kind of missing that one bopping around, old style. :D I saw the German guys have an elevator hoisting trucks between floors. Could save som AMP'S
Carry On Please :) |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Looks like you've been making some great progress down there, i kinda like "old time digging' that's not just the really heavy mining equipment

Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Yeah the Tamiyas were good fun back in the day when my layout was much smaller. I don't need an elevator Bo, I got Fumotec tough equip ;) also, as I get older, my metabolism seems to be dropping, need more exercise :o
Frizzen, did you not spot my bucket in the 1st pic? :p |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
nice vid joe, is that another 4206 you got sat on the table in the workshop?
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Hi Joe-every time I look at this thread I am amazed at how much dirt you have moved with your machines. It would be interesting to know how much stick-time you have with your models but I am sure you enjoyed every minute of it. I really like the picture of the "fines" pile. That kinda gives an idea of how much work has been done. Keep at it!!!
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Carp, I have two 4206's, one has 3 valve hyds, the other has none.
Tom, stick time since 2002, indeed all good fun. |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
I saw a bucket, i was just suprised to see an actual seat down there.
Wow, i didn't realize that's been going on since '02 |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
My seat is "up there", that's the back of my shop. ;)
I got my 1st my hydraulic construction model, Liebherr 922 excavator, from Stahl/Leimbach summer of 2001, finished building it Feb 2002. Basement enlargement project started winter of 04 - 05. |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Been working on a new B50 with a pup this winter. I went with brushed motors in this one, it'll run a little quicker than the old one with brushless.

Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Another B50! Love the new pup setup, going to be a badass dumper
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Looks real good Joe nice welds. Ed
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
looks awsome Joe. your fleet of trucks will beable to move alot of material.
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Thanks for posting the pics of the new truck. I’m sure this one will live a life of good use . And nice work on the hitch!!
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Wow you built those 1.5 B50's fast!! Does it come painted? Looking forward to this beast hauling dirt.
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
just currious if you put all the dumper trucks in a line how many feet long would it be lol :D
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Fast?! What are you being funny? :D :p I'm not fast, I got these 3rd week of July, spent a week degreasing all metal parts & painting so paint could cure fully while I do my harvest... threw my back out the next week & couldn't do much anything for 8days, leaned on my neighbor to load out 5B's for me & do some desicating on peas, got through harvest ok by myself, but my lower back issues have bugged me all winter, couple hrs in the shop a day hunched over working on projects is all I can handle... turning 50 this yr, feel like 80 most days. :(
Anyways, just about done with this adt & pup :) I made a valve divider block from brass for the pup https://s13.postimg.cc/okaooxsqv/001.jpg https://s13.postimg./xglgsbthj/002.jpg https://s13.postimg.cc/41fsjfrjr/003.jpg This dump cyl was on the trk, right side... the flexible hose going to the "T" I think I made it a bit too short, box going up/down - changing angles tugging a bit on this fitting broke it loose from the tube. Pipe goes up to top of tube & broke loose from that soldered joint... buffed the paint off, resolder, repaint, put it on pup after dinner today. https://s13.postimg.cc/ebi7il9on/004.jpg https://s13.postimg.cc/fdse145cn/005.jpg Got the box on the pup, put oil to the cyls https://s13.postimg.cc/shxydvhzr/010.jpg This is where the connection is for the pup hyds https://s13.postimg.cc/njafzc6h3/013.jpg Got a leak, hoping I just over tightened the fitting & crushed the seal too much... put on a new fitting with some thread seal... give a couple hrs to set & try it again. https://s13.postimg.cc/6irjqnlpz/012.jpg Made up some exhaust pipes from 5/16 Plastruct tube for this adt & the others https://s13.postimg.cc/z8efncuvr/014.jpg This air cleaner is 3D printed, used an 8mm magnet to hold it place for pictures & filming, leave it off during regular use so it don't get so dirty. https://s13.postimg.cc/8akillfdj/015.jpg https://s13.postimg.cc/53pz1z2nb/016.jpg And I'm motivated to get busy putting this WA500 wheel loader together next, it's only 4yrs next month that I've had it  :D :p ...been using it for spare parts on occasion for other models that needed repairs, still missing a couple parts that'll hopefully show up next month. https://s13.postimg.cc/dyqtcimav/017.jpg Degrease the cyls today & paint them yellow https://s13.postimg.cc/6irjqq6bb/018.jpg The drive belt on my lathe is toast :( ...having a hard time trying to find one locally. https://s13.postimg.cc/yivnavzg7/008.jpg I was looking on https://www.mcmaster.com/#drive-belts/=1booul2 (I see the link won't go directly to page I was looking at; it's the T5 series timing belt) My operators manual gave the dimensions 124 x 1.5 x 15 which is metric for teeth - depth - width When I measure the length I get 584mm & pitch is 5mm Gonna be one of these 3 belts  ... would the difference in lengths compared to # of teeth be b/c of belt thickness? T5-575-16 575 115 5 Urethane Gray -13° to 176° 1679K518 9.10 T5-610-16 610 122 5 Urethane Gray -13° to 176° 1679K545 9.51 T5-630-16 630 126 5 Urethane Gray -13° to 176° 1679K522 9.51 |

Got er done... well except for the decals & a couple of other bitty parts that'll show up in a few months.

Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Now that is a lot of goodness, and hard work done. Really enjoy watching the progress a lot, and with new machines on the plant new challenges shows up. Heavy traffic can put some roads on a test for sure. hope you can adjust for a smooth haul road and get it where it needs to go. I could not resist to mess with one of your pictures.........a drone pix of your site....looks like so 1/1
Hope you don't mind i did this....... Looking forward to vids....crunch crunch. |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Really nice work on the new truck Joe. I was curious how the dumping would work with the pup but now I see.
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Thanks for the photo's Joe
You are getting some building done this winter... I would guess you powered up the trailer as well ? greg |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Did you just zoom the pic Bo? It does look moreso 1:1
Thanx Tom. The dump area is almost too small for this combo. I do have a 2x25 Sabertooth in the trk & a power wire coming from the cab Greg to put power to the axles on the pup, don't really want to b/c cornering makes it act weird... I have some hubs with one-way roller clutches that I made up for the 8wd 4206 cross dump, but took them off b/c I discovered I sometimes needed 8wd in both directions with that rig. I can't make that alteration till I get my lathe working again... ordered belts from McMaster yesterday... the slow bus through customs. |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Hey Joe.
I turned the pic. counterclockwise a bit to most of the revealing wall was gone, and cut out the footprints from the Giant..........lol Would love a similar pic. with your New awesome haul truck in there also......keep snapping picture plz. |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Came out great Joe looks awesome  A serious dumper right there.
|
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Thanx Brandon, I like it too... get this rim slippage problem solved, then hammer down!
A vid showing the 963 leveling the fines pile, had to reload the vid b/c the original kept pausing for reasons I do not know  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_xf_I581ug |
Re: LilGiantsConstrCo
Crunch Crunch. The reload works good, So does the dozer.......and i said it before.....Excavator Operator Extraordinaire...... Now i gotta say Dozer Operator Extraordinaire.......Very nice work !
