Mo,

Have you considered getting a set of the Goldhofer bed-extenders from EC-M? I'm considering it, but I'm hoping someone has better images of the product...

Some of the model images have other angles, but the only other pic thats halfway decent is on this page down toward the bottom...

Anyone got a set, or able to talk to 'em and ask for better pics of the pieces? I'm sure Mo and others would like better shots, eh?

I saw those a while back, honestly I don't think I will get them, I don't plan on hauling anything wide enough for me to need them. For now at least ;)

Wow, I just seen your video for the first time, that thing has fast hydros!

That's the Nice thing about brushless, I was just working them to show how fast they can be, but I have the valve servos turned way down now for more scale speed. I am getting a brushless pump for my 966 also.

Re: LR634 has arrived!

I thinks its because you guys are comparing brushless to the stock can... there are some insane fast brushed motors out there.

and you cannot really use TRUE performance brushless with the model pumps - you will destroy them. 5800kv will burn anything there is in a few minutes.

they just have less resistance/consumption overhead so are more efficient if you get the kv right for the application.

The brushless motors we are talking about here are the Leimback brushless motors, designed to run the pumps. I don't know anyone who would throw such a high KV motor on a pump and expect it to last. Just seems a bit silly to me.

Precisely. Its just that folk are comparing a weak brushless to a terrible silver can (nothing is worse than the johnson silver cans, nothing - high resistance, no torque, mediocre rpm, bushings, cheap brushes, poor winds, no ventilation). I tried to put the whole thing in perspective. That's all. Of course anything else you put in there will be better than the stock brushed :)

SOooo did you get overnight shipping??? is it here yet?:D:D. Congratulations man, I can't wait to see your build. I am going to order the metal tracks now that they have them in stock, I did get the metal bucket teeth also, but will not change anything unless something breaks.

Guys, where is the best place to buy one of these? TTM, Permacon? Somewhere else? I just want the loader kit, with a hydraulic retro-fit, and the track drive. Seems like it's going to run about $3,400, plus shipping, with no radio electronics.

Sorry Man, I somehow did not see this. I ordered mine from der-getreibedoktor.de , he will get the package price for you and send you the info before you pay for it. Just email him and tell him you want the same set up I have. He will give you a good deal if you mention my name.
Good luck!

Re: LR634 has arrived!

No overnite shipping. They told me that it would be 6-8 weeks (likely 2.5 months) to get everything. We'll see what happens. I plan to powder coat the metal parts once I make sense of it all. Also, I found that the metal tracks need a little work to move smoothly. I had to drill out each pin hole a bit, and mill the inserts. They worked fine after that , hopefully, they have addressed this. Also, I ordered extra, because they are brittle and tend to break.;)

Can't wait to see Mitch's version with the wide tracks! What color are you going to do Mitch?

Re: LR634 has arrived!

Great looking tracked loader! Very nice job on wiring up the lights.

I am surprised at how fast the hydraulics are too. I suspect that it isn't just a better pump motor that makes it move that fast...maybe the internal volume/size/length of the hydraulic cylinders on your tracked loader are smaller than say the cylinders on your Wedico 966 for example and that is why it moves so fast?

Mitch 04-03-2013 08:05 PM

Re: LR634 has arrived!

Not certain on the color just yet. I have to check with the local powder coater.

I would like to see somebody build a root rake for their dozer or track loader, maybe not the most practical on a toy but would be an awesome model.

Ayoub, thanks! I'll give Doc Gear a look. By the way, any chance you could share some photos of the model's internals? How you have your battery, speaker box, ESC, and sound unit crammed in there? It looks like it would be pretty tight. Is there more room then it appears to have? I'm just trying to get an idea of where the components fit. Do you think a standard sub-C 7.2 volt battery pack would fit with everything else you have in there, or is it small LiPo packs only?

I'm sure you haven't really got a chance to work the model, but any idea what sort of run times you have been getting?

I hope somebody adds the ripper to one of these, well, hydraulic ripper anyways. A grapple bucket would be awesome as well.

I will post some pictures when I get home to show you how mine is set up, you can run any type of battery depending on how you place everything. I'm used to RC race cars and truck where we cut all the wires and leave no slack, but in these machines I just don't like to cut any wires just in case I want to move things around, the problem with that is the freaking wires take up a lot of space.

Ripper is on the way ;). Gonna take some time to figure out where to put an extra valve and still have space for all the radio gear.

Re: LR634 has arrived!

Ripper, that's great! You might need metal tracks or some extra weight somewhere but still cool.
