Nice progress! I really like the trailer frame rails. Your screw drive should work well. You drew up some great prints. I appreciate the attention to to detail. I find myself sketching ideas just like that, all of the time, while work on things for my own models. One of these I'm going to try my hand at some brass work. You make it look so easy!

It is easy;)
give it a go!

my old 70 model truck had one and it only had a ram that was 2 foot long to lift the dump all the way up

I had thought of it,but it seems this screw drive will be the easiest way of doing it and I have already taken way to long to get to where im at on this build as is.
As for other people using scissor lifts, sure they have I think their is even a company producing such an item, but I cant remember the name??

Yes work and children will do that. For me it's only work and that's hard enough if I had kids I don't know what I would do. What do you use to do your brass work soldering wise?

I use a combo of mapp gas torch and a stainglass iron and the solder I use is a product from tractor supply that is a heavy duty solder for dissimilar metals. I also use silver solder for most of the steel..

Great to see you back on this Crawler. I am really impressed with your brass work and creativity, there is nothing that you will not try to make from scratch yourself. Gotta admire that.

me to .. i have a good bit more small stuff to add to the outside and I also have to pick up some slow drying glue for the laminated roof and it will be time to paint it. Im going to be going for a weathered look but their will be just a little rust as these truck cabs were aluminum..

That is one incredible rig! It's even more impressive because it's all from scratch! :D Excellent work, crawler. I'm not sure how I missed this build, but I won't be missing it any longer.
