That´s a well used model, looks real nice almost like a real one!

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Hey Joe
Any luck finding motors for your ADT ? Question for you : if you get a chance, can you measure your tires on the Wa500. Are they 125 by 50 ? Is the rim size 57 or 47mm thx greg |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Cheers Dan, that's only reason to make 'em rc'd. http://www.modelltruck.net/images/smilies/prost.gif
Hello Greg, I've spoke to Lars Stahl and he said he'd send me some... haven't seen or heard anything from him lately about anything in the mail yet. I hope to have it rolling late May/June... literally tonnes of dirt to haul out this summer! The tire: dia - 120mm width - 45mm exposed outer rim edge - 63 middle of outside dia of rim - about 53mm Tire fits quite snuggly on the rim, a real test of your grip to wrestle the solid rubber tire onto the rim & almost impossible to get it off again! I've never had an issue of slippage between rim/tire. |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Digging up the screener's holding pit, dumped alot of big lumps from the wall in here last Spring cause I was having troubles with the crusher at the time.

By the looks of the forecast, it's warming up this wk, FINALLY!!! it's been a long cold winter that started early November. Depending on the direction of the wind & how dry it is, I might finally be able to haul some out. :) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0286.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0301.jpg This pic was taken with me holding the camera. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0302.jpg And this one with the camera on the tripod... much clearer! Amazing what just a bit of shake ruins the quality. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0303.jpg And here's one of two movies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZYku4BgkV4 |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
it is nice out here today! its hard melting though. too much ice built up on top of the snow
|
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Thanks for posting the photo's Joe, the video is great. I really enjoy watching you operate your equipment, it is very smooth and realistic. The Wa500 is a good looking wheel loader, the steering looks like a good speed you don't seem to have to stop and wait for it...
As far as old man winter, I was up to the ski hill today WOW ! 23 feet of snow, good ski day though. But that gives you an idea of how much rain we have seen in town this year... My feet hardly fit into my ski boots as I think they are growing into web feet... greg |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Hey Joe, would a sheet of plywood, be an option for starting work sooner?
Wish I had some of these http://www.alturnamats.com/ Mud flap's are a little thick for scale use, LOL. "Come on spring, We're ready"! Later, Neil#2 aka doodlebug |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Cool pics & vids Joe. Thanks for posting more.
The Wa500's drive seems to have a LOT of torque. Does it have a motor/gru on each wheel? About how much does it weigh? |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Yeah, I really like the 500 too Greg, a very well balanced loader... I'd never go back to the wdc... even it were a freebie!
It'd take alot plywood Neil. :p It'll dry soon enough. Roof asphalt shingles work pretty good for "matts" over soft, muddy ground. Yes, a gru/motor at each wheel, the same as the adt in previous pics. I don't know the final rpm, but tonnes of torque though! I don't have a scale to weigh it, I'd guess it to be somewhere around 13-15lbs... it could do with more weight. I was eyeballing the tires from the 740 to put on there, hollow tires full of BB's. :D |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Here's the other vid.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeYuDTPAfjI with today's hi-def vids, my camera vid quality isn't really cutting it anymore... and combine that with my satelite internet, these hi-def vids are making my connection speed like peddle internet again! :( This internet shyt is getting way too expensive & time consuming. EIGHT FREAKING HOURS to upload this last vid of 188mb! |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
I loaded the trks at 6am this morning so they were ready roll when the wind changed from sw to nw & the temp got a lil warmer...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0307.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0313.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0314.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0315.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0316.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0317.jpg ... had to catch a ride to town 8am to pick up my JD4050 from the doctor, slide by the tire shop for two new rear treads and boggie home before the ground got too soft, but there's always a screwball in the plan! Got home 4.5hrs later, now it's too soft... maybe tomorrow. |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Hey Joe, I'm happy with "NON HD" video, if it make's your life easier! I enjoy the video's either way.
Shingles? why didn't I think of that? I've hauled so many new one's to the landfill, from paying cleanup work, it's scarry. Later, Neil#2 aka doodlebug. |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
great videos glad to see your diggin and gettin ready for spring
|
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Great vids joe ...Like greg says ..." Smooth Operator" ..The Fleet looks Good all lined up waiting to unload ...Just missing The ADT though ...You must be getting close to putting that one back in production too now..

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Cheers Neil, Henry, Lou, compliments always much appreciated. :)
Lou, no confirmation from young Mr Stahl about anything being sent yet... and ofcourse these days is when the four major rc exhibitions are happening in Germany, as a vendor themselves it's likely they're busy showing their goods at each one, so I suppose it could be awhile yet even. Here's another vid of the 1st four loads out for the new season of hauling dirt out of my basement. :D A few glitches, bloopers and discoveries that my equip doesn't work as well as did last fall when I parked it. :( The 5 stage telescope on the end dump blew a seal at the 2nd stage... have to figure out how to get that apart to repair. And nearly every tailgate latch wouldn't release... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98nh5ZmTWsI |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Hey Joe, how many radio's are you running for this video?
Still trying to figure the multiple reciever option out. Nice vid! Later, Neil#2 aka doodlebug. |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Two Polk radios with four Polk rx's... the GL dump trk & KH/pup are fine when signal is cut from tx, but the other two glitch like crazy! The Polks will soon be replaced with Spektrum radio systems... too many glitch & signal loss problems with the Polk.

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Thank's Joe, does that mean 2.4ghz? Look at some last night. Still learning, My 80's Airtronic is now illegal. Later, Neil#2 aka doodlebug.

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Nice video of your haulin' fleet Joe.
|
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Nice vid Joe. That Komatsu loader is looking really nice. And with all the dust on it it seems so realistic. Is it better than the WDC one?
What is the sound in the background? Heater? |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Can you even buy crystal FM radios anymore... but then again, why would one want to? :D
Thank you again Scott. :) Without a doubt the Komatsu stomps the wdc Lorenz... though maybe I'm a bit biased b/c Rainer's an ***hole. :D Diesel oil furnance. ;) |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Did some hauling out from atop the wall this afternoon.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0329.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0327.jpg Within twenty minutes, it just killed my lower back to stand there next to the wall, so I put my stool on some shaky blocks... I never fell off, but I was real careful. :D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0334.jpg After doing a circle check for newborns, I stop thru the farm shop to fashion up a comfy safer accessory. :D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0333.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0335.jpg I should be using this right now for haulin, but there it sits since January waiting for a drive motor on the front left corner... :( the kid don't run the business as efficient as his ol' man did  http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0332.jpg Upload a new movie tonite from today's activities. :) |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
too bad that motor aint fixed yet. It sure was nice out today!
|
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Hey Joe, more on the scraper Please! Are you going to pull it with one of your adt's?
That was one of Volvo's new product's, 3 yrs ago at Conexpo. Adt chassis for pulling can's. Have you considered a mount for the camera on your stool?, then it could swivel with you and the seat. Just a thought. Yah I'm stiring the dust up again! Later, Neil#2 aka doodlebug. |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVa4FEBcSms
Neil, Joe Ayars built this pan for me... geez two yrs ago already. I was going to pull it with one of my dozers, but now I think I'll do it with my white globey. Just gotta change the hitch on it. It's toy for the outdoor park that I'll get too someday. :D Joe Ayars had vids of the 1st pan he built & he pulled it with his stout diecast converted CaseIH & TJ Ford/New Holland 4wd tractors with clodbuster axles... I think the vids were loaded on his photobucket account & I don't have them bookmarked. I'm pretty sure he has a thread on Scale's Ag & Industrial Equip forum with his name as the title. I don't swivel or even turn my head, just eyeball movement when I operate... half the time I can't see anyway from where I'm sitting & just feel it out. :D |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
good to see you are still making some headway Joe. I am looking a your chair setup, looks like you are sitting on a english saddle ! hahaah I think you need some sterps, seatbelt or a parachute on that set up. LOL
Regarding the ADT, can you just unhook the power to the u/s motor and run it with five motors ? A gear went on my ADT and I ran it for the weekend on five motors, hardly even noticed the power difference.. greg p.s. ( not sure what that blue color in the sky is outside your house I haven't seen that in a few months ) 24 feet of snow now on the ground at the ski hill, they say that it has snowed a total of 57 feet so far ! ! I think it has rained about 20 feet this winter in town, time to start building a BOAT. |

Thank's Joe, I'll look him up!
Greg, this one's for you:D Later, Neil#2 aka doodlebug. |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Joe..
Outstanding models and performance... Jerry |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Your models must be the most used ones. Looks like they have to do a hard work.
Thanks for sharing. Dan |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Hmmm, never thought of that Greg. :D Though with these hi rpm 385 motors, there's alot of gear sets within the gear head, might cause alot drag, even with the motor pinion removed... it gives me an idea though, thanx for the suggestion. :)
Cheers Neil. :) Thank you Jerry. :) All great entertainment Dan. I'm looking forward to seeing you wear the paint off your's soon. That blue color sky was short lived Greg, back to gray skies & flurries all this wk. :( http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0358.jpg So with an equip move back to the lower level, start moving reserves to restock the wall for fast haul out when the sun does shine... someday again. (they say La Nina will be over sometime early June... can't wait!, it's been a brutal yr of excessive wet & cold) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0338.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0341.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0342.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0345.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0347.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0352.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0355.jpg |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Hey Joe, that wet stuff came south:mad::(
Baling Twine:D:D:D gotta love it!:p Now I see the level's, I kept thinking, the truck's were going to fall off, on the trip back inside:eek: Later, Neil#2 aka doodlebug |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
like the rear wheels on the globe. your 'flotation' tires? lol
|
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Uh huh, baler twine is supporting most of the skyways, the other side is anchored to the wall.
There's three levels to climb to get to the top, total elevation is about six feet. The 1st level from the floor is about 12 degrees, 19 foot length to rise about 44 inches. The other two aren't quite as steep. I was in the basement when the trks were going in & out in that video. I don't trust my driving that much! :D |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
You bet Dean, and they work very well too! The Pajero duals sink in the loose soil, these TLT-1 floaters will back up & onto a dirtpile like the Volvo adt if the front steer axle is on hard ground. ;)
|
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
That makes sense, thanks Joe.
Later Neil |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Saved a few miles loading at mid level to restock the wall.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0362.jpg This rather stock Bruder trl adds alot of play value to my constr area, hauling equip to different areas, as well as different levels. Took the dozer from ground level to the wall top. Then backhauled the excav from mid level to the ground level to load out dirt from another area. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0367.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0369.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0372.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/IMG_0373.jpg |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
I was just thinking about that trailer from the pictures posted earlier. looks like you have gotten a ton of use out of that trailer!
|
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
hey there Joe, do you have some sort of parking break on your white truck so that it doesn't roll downhill when you are loading it
Zak |
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Zak, its called leaving it in gear lol. I think he has a 4-1 reduction and dual motors in it. so its good as a park brake gets lol
|
Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)
Hello Zak, just flip the trans into 1st gear and the dual motors will hold it. This trk is far from being stock with lots of reduction, 6wd & dual 12v motors.
