Re: 140H Grader

I made the protection brackets, the bottom plate and tow hitch. I didn't want to have all that open space in the rear. I am going to make somewhat of a motor to look the part.

Remarkable craftsmanship Robert, no one would ever guess it's made from wood. Keep the pics coming.

Re: 140H Grader

Wow, that's good :). How did you worked the surface that the paint looks so smooth? Did you fill the tyres or are they just hollow?

Re: 140H Grader

You would make one heck of a pattern maker with the way you can make that wood do what you want!

Re: 140H Grader

Pattern maker-HA- more like a pro model maker, museum quality models that is!! I do believe this tops your ag-sprayer and cotton bail truck.

Re: 140H Grader

Thanks all for the kind words, but "pro", no not me, i just have a habit of trying to pay attention to the details. Patience goes a long ways in this hobby.

tc1cat- when iset out to build a model, i look for something to challenge me

9W- thats how i got suckered into building two Globe Theatre's for Romeo and Juliet set while in High Sch.....it was fun to do

Lorenzo-To get the paint to look smooth, i cover the wood with glass cloth, then sand, fill, sand to the touch

Lil Giants and Trucker47, those words mean alot coming from your guys!

Thanks again:D

Did you use fine weave or a silk when covering? & did you use glass reason or an instant glue to bond it on with?
A truly remarkable bit of wood work, well done
Tim

Tim, i used fine-weave cloth and CA. I also used gap-filler CA. There is also a lite-filler called balsa Rite. I use that after the first or second sanding to get low places or maybe where i sanded thru the cloth.

I agree! Totally insane level of detail here, Rob. Incredible work. I don't care what you call yourself, but I think you are more then worthy of the term 'pro'. Good work.
