There may be one in NZ some time next year in Hitachi colours.

The wife said it would make a good Christmas present. ....
Sounds like an awesome Christmas present.

Can't wait for Xmas to be over so I can start the emailing,.

Thanx for the heads up Andy, I'll put my order in for a new boom when you get your kit ordered up. ;)

And when you do pull the trigger on it, lmk & I'll give a short list of alternative parts to get with it that makes it work better. ;)

Ive been doing a bit of googeling and , a quick hitch is a definite., aswell as a few detail bits are on the wish list.
what would you guys recomend for preformance up grades.
Also what sort of time from order to shipping is standard, I couldnt wait 8 or 9 months like some people who have orderded other excavators.

Request 516:1 gearheads for track drives & a motor direct swing drive (which will require some machining by you to complete, nothing major, just fab a steel bushing to mate the smaller output shaft to the larger bore pinion).

A Dimension Engineering 2x25 Sabertooth works great for the tracks & another 2x12 Sabertooth for the swing (I've tried a lot of esc's for this particular large model & the Sabertooth has been far & away the smoothest & most precise, even better than the Servonaut).

Lead time to ship I would guess to be 4-8 weeks, depends on what's in inventory vs what they need to make or order out...

Well here you go Calum... following Andy's lead, here V3 of the tunnel grinder...

I tried it out this morning with the wire bristle heads, it worked ok, but rather slow. It took quite a bit of force to stall the worm drive gearhead motor, so at 160rpm it does have good power.

These #40 sprockets are 90mm diameter, I'll fab them up similar to how Andy did & give that a go... if the 160rpm g/h motor don't have the ponies, then I have another g/h motor just like it, but @55rpm to swap in.

Joe, the "ceiling" in the video is the bottom of the concrete pad between the house and workshop correct?

Great vid Joe ..Whats your estimate when you figure you will punch through ...Definatey will have to set up a camera on the other side for when that happens ..Dam I may have to make another trip to Saskatchewan soon for the ribbon cutting ceremony..I like it :D

Re: LilGiantsConstrCo

ribbon cutting ceremony... too funny!!! :D

The last couple months I've been working at it every 2nd or 3rd day Lou trying to make it last, it's amazing how soft digging it is so far... I'm sure I'll be poking through the other side before spring thaw. :(

Looks good Joe, I think your going to have to start planning a new dig before long. Maybe make a cement plant and trucks and start laying concrete.

Re: LilGiantsConstrCo

Well I tried to make it last only working at it a couple hrs a week, but alas I poked through yesterday morning...
