Look's great Brian, can't wait for more pics.
I was wondering does the 1.2 rivets look more to scale? I think i used the 1.6 on mine. Mike |

Re: Pete 357 tri-axle dump update 6-13-11
Thanks fellas!! Mike I chose the 1.2 rivets because they were real close the tamiya molded rivets.

Brian that's sweet .

Re: Pete 357 tri-axle dump update 8/7/11
I really like the tank steps. I've been thinking about how I can get some machined up for my Wedico. I like that they are different. Most of the time you see the battery box steps, but tanks are a nice change. Your's turned out great.
The only problem I see is the frame is not yellow. :D What happened? |

Thanks for the compliments guys! Nathan I decided to put down the yellow paint for this build, I'm going with a true tribute to my Pete.

The tank steps look great, did you make them yourself? Nice work.

Re: Pete 357 tri-axle dump update 8/7/11
Please feel free to shoot me down in flames if I'm wrong, but maybe the aircleaners look higher or at least different because it's a 357 rather than a 379, so I believe the hood slopes compared with the straight hood of a 379, and it may be shorter too. Maybe that's why it looks different??
|
Re: Pete 357 tri-axle dump update 8/7/11
Nick you are correct about the hood being shorter and sloped. The 357 is the same as a 379 short hood except for the 357 is fiberglass instead of aluminum as found on both 379's reg, and ex hood models. My truck had the Donaldson breathers instead of the Vortox ones. The Vortox units are alot bigger but sit lower on the cowl for some reason. The Vortox AC's also go down to the bottom edge of the cab an most of the trucks I have seen.

Hey Brian! You're doing a unbelievable job!!! It looks awsome! I was wondering how you mounted the uprights down the side of the dump body?
