http://i371.photobucket.com/albums/o...s/DSCN0092.jpg BUild started life as a Globeliner frame which was lengthened 1.5 inches. Highly modified Midnight Pumpkin cab, RC4WD R2 tranny and transfer case, seperate driveshafts to each axle(prototypical), and Fulda Crossforce tires. Still needs the rocket rails to be machined! |
Re: US6 Studebaker build
This I just amazing Lynn, your a true artist!

Re: US6 Studebaker build
Looking good! One of the most realistic builds I"ve seen!:D:)

Re: US6 Studebaker build
Lynn the truck looks great cant wait to see it done are you going to try to have it done for st. louis.
|
Re: US6 Studebaker build
I cant wait to see the rocket rails on it have you decided if you are going to paint the rails or just weather them yet?

Re: US6 Studebaker build
Thanks guys. Hoping to have at least one of the rails done by St. Louis. Rails will be painted and weathered. Going to tear into the mill this week. Metal should be cut to length this week also.

Re: US6 Studebaker build
Lynn, it was really good to meet and talk with you at Indy. The rocket truck workmanship is just great and am looking forward to seeing how the launcher goes together.

Re: US6 Studebaker build
Ken, nice to meet you, also. Hopefully all will go well with the mill rebuild and rail machining.

Re: US6 Studebaker build
Wow! What craftsmanship you have put into this truck, Greay build I look forward to more updates.
|
Re: US6 Studebaker build
that is a cool build

Re: US6 Studebaker build
Really unique build and subject! Beautiful machining and brass work. Very clean!
Great job so far. I look forward to your updates. Now, don't get me wrong, I love how the truck looks now with the crossforce tires but just in case you were looking for the WWII type tread pattern I came across them the other day. WWII Army tread tires Thought I'd mention it. Maybe it will help you or someone. |
Re: US6 Studebaker build
15 euro a piece and I think you understand why he doesn't have them.... $200 for tires!
|
Re: US6 Studebaker build
Yeah I agree they are very expensive, but I also know that some guys will invest to get every last detail correct. With how detailed this build is now, I thought that he might be looking for tires like these and since I happened to come across them I thought I'd post. Maybe after winning the lottery? :p

Re: US6 Studebaker build
True there are some items you just have to have, but I am pretty sure I remember Lynn saying they weren't high on the priority list. ;)

Re: US6 Studebaker build
Thanks to all for the compliments. I know all about the military type tires. Willy has some on one of his trucks. Price was the reason I am not using them on this truck. The Crossforce tires give the Stude much better traction than the military tires would. The military tires are solid rubber, not hollow and much harder than the Crossforce. I have not worked on the Stude for about a month trying to get the Bud truck done for Indy an making parts for other truckers. Once the Bud truck is finally finished, I am going to hit the Stude hard to get the rocket rails done. Another straight truck in the works after the Stude and then a metallic King hits the workbench. The metallic King is not going to be stock by any means.

Re: US6 Studebaker build
Amazing work on your truck, I can't get over the detail!!

Re: US6 Studebaker build
Many thanks to all. If I ever stop getting projects to make, I might get my mill table changed and get some work done on the Studebaker. Most of these projects are of my own making:rolleyes: Just can't stop getting ideas to try! I am contemplating making my own military tires for both the Stude and my military King.

Re: US6 Studebaker build
Short update! Finally got the mill table changed. Not hard but not the easiest either. Working on 2 other projects instead of the Stude. Hopefully, I will get to the Stude in Nov. Plus the other 3 on going projects.

Re: US6 Studebaker build
All that brass is so beautiful, kind of a shame to have to paint it! Cool truck. Dan
