PFB Kalmar Terminal Tractor

Got started on the body work today. Going on a scania chassis I had kicking around. Probably won't do the 5th wheel lift like the 1:1s have. Just want a nimble tractor for pulling trailers around.

Still need to shorten the wheelbase by a couple inches.

Nice work, pretty fast too. You did all that body work in one day?

way to long on the chassis. These are alot more fun if u can pick up and trailer then drop where ever u want, without touching the dolly legs.

Scott I think you missed the part in the first post where he said he still had to shorten it.

LOL ... I like the "front" on the front bumper - good thing you label or it might have been mounted backwards... LOL .. .

I just said I wasn't gonna do it at first. Think a screw drive should do the trick. Have to see where I'm at for room once it's shortened.

Cool. Another one of these little buggers being built on the forum! It's looking good, so far. Yeah, I know, you're going to shorten the frame, but I can't help but say it - It's a large car spotter! Sweet! :)

Got cracking again tonight after class. Need to fab the front bumper and a way to mount all the body work. I just use CA and kicker to "tack" everything in place so it's easy to break apart when I decide how it needs to be.

Cleco clamps should be in every scratch builder's arsenal!

3-speed wouldn't fit without cutting a good portion of the floor. Gotta figure something else out.

looking good PFB - how about a heavy duty servo to drive the lift? They can be a little more compact. Or maybe one of those Firgelli's all in one package screw drive! The cab work is real top notch.

this would work great with a gearhead for power ,don't need highway speed on it
