Kingworth T404 SAR

Hi guys n girls,
I've been looking around this awesome forum for a while now and thought I'd better contribute to it.
I haven't been building very long so I'm not as good as a lot of you. There are so many great builds on here, so here goes (I hope this works)

This is the truck I am replicating (hopefully). It is an ozzy Kenworth T404SAR. I drive this truck for a living.

This is what I started with.
Shortened the sleeper.
http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps5e24nse1.jpg
Cut off the hood
http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...psrexucmga.jpg
The hood the right shape
http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...psyqrm4oad.jpg
Sleeper roof and mouldings started
http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...psagaftapo.jpg
A few holes filled, sleeper doors and tool boxes redone. Couldn't help myself, i had to see what it looked like with the stacks and grill on.

They are a tuff truck. They are an ozzy work horse. Na no front fenders getting done. This build is pretty much done (although there is always something to do on it)

Hi,

great work up to now, it an absolute cool truck. But the fenders need to be modified to fit to the 404. The rear end must end at the edge of the cabine an the outer side of the fenders but be more thicker.

You showed a great work handling styrene. These little changes should be a nice work in between for an evening for you... ;)

Your skills, and results are just as good as any I've seen on these boards, you've done an amazing job replicating your 1:1.

Thanks gismow for your valued input and kind words mate. Yeah, the more I look at it and the more comments made about the fenders makes me wanna change them to be more scale. I'll probably end up doing it someday. Maybe when its a bit warmer. The cool weather here at the moment isn't the best for painting, I'd hate to stuff it up with bad painting.
I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean "The rear end must end at the edge of the cabine" could you please explain!! (waiting for the ozzies to bring up Pauline Hanson now)

Hi Crankz80 , I think gismow is saying the front fenders are to long on your 1-1 truck the back of the fenders are in line with the front edge of the doors and on your model they are about 1-2cm behind the front egde of the doors...

Cheers Tracy

Below the srew hole near the fender you have a rounded corner. This should be the endpoint of the fender. Just draw a straight line from this edge to the fender so that the line touches the fender. This will be the final line. If you want to make it absolute perfect, you must move the complete fender 5mm up. At the T404 the highest point of the fender is placed a bit higher than the lower end of the doors.

Thank you for explaining what you meant Gismow. I knew it was never going to be absolutely perfect and was never meant to be but you offer great advice and I appreciate it a lot. If I do decide to make the fenders scale I will definitely look back on what you have to offer. Cheers mate
