Freightliner dump truck

Since I ran out of parts for the new lowboy I started on the cab today for my new dump truck I decided to build something a little different and don't remember seeing a Knight Hauler made into a dump truck. Here are some pics of the progress on the cab.

keep up the good work:)

That should look real nice. It will be different, that's nice to see. Another "out of the ordinary" build out of the "00" stables.

Thanks and I have found that multiple projects gives me something to do when I need a break from one of the other projects.

There is a purple one that runs around here with a polished Tebco bed on it.

I am thinking about using the D35 from RC4WD that Katan mentioned instead of the TLT and I am not sure about the front tires yet.

Re: Freightliner dump truck

I need to figure out which one I want to use on my new truck. I'm just not experianced enough with them to know which one I should use with wider fronts.

Are you using the back of the sleeper to make the the cab back?

Corey it is actually parts from the sleeper off of a King Hauler the sleeper on a Knight is squared off and I wanted it to be more round. I always save leftover parts just for this occasion. I need to get a measurement of a D35 from the outside of the hubs not including the hexes.

Like the rounded back for sure. We are sold out on d 35's otherwise I would measure one up for you.

I'm definitely tuned in on this build!

Not to burst your bubble, Ed had a blue knight hauler daycab dump at Indy 2007. The truck was dismantled after the show, I believe. I couldn't find any pics...

Re: Freightliner dump truck

Rod I would like to see a pic of it to see how some one else has cut the cab down because I have done this one completely different than my single axle.

Thanks

Been working some crazy hours, 12hr days, split shifts + Saturdays so I just haven't had much time or even energy. I promise I'll get photobucket figured out (Lynn's been helping) and post some stuff this week.

Re: Freightliner dump truck

I'm beginning to wonder if Travis, Freddy, and Paul live in a Tamiya factory. There seems to be no end to the parts. Everyday it seems like they start a new project and just happen to have all the parts there... Yet it takes me 15 days to get a front axle assembly.

I'm kinda jelous!!!

But other than that, it's looking good Travis, I like the way you did the back of the cab,

that works if you only put the parts you need to build the part. then you know if you miss one lol

Stuff every nut, bolt, screw, and parts bag for a Knight Hauler is in the bowl. After a dozen or so trucks you know where the parts go.:D
