Re: Cat MT765B

Hey, Travis! The tractor was even more impressive first-hand at Indy. Appreicate your time discussing the second-generation driveline with the gearmotors. Really looks great. Have you resolved possible track slippage on the drive wheels? You were considering tape or something to improve friction.

Re: Cat MT765B

Travis, I remembered you said something about black rubber bands for traction...what about o-rings or spraying the wheels with bed-liner or similar product?

I need to get going on my "C" model!!!!

Re: Cat MT765B

Well I wasn't happy with the motor mounts so I reworked them today and I am much happier with the tractor know. Here are some picks of the the motor setups leading to what I ended up with today.

First motor setup that didn't last long at all.

http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/IM000847.jpg

The next setup worked but it wasn't tight in the housings and allowed the motors to rock back and forth.

http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/100_0420.jpg

http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/100_0425.jpg

And finally what I did today.

http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/100_0423.jpg

http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/100_0422.jpg

http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/100_0421.jpg

Now when I split the tractor the only thing connecting the two halves are the motor wires.

Thanks for looking.
Travis
