My Knight Hauler

This is my knight hauler. I made the bumper out of aluminium and added mudflaps to the bottom of it. I also made the bug deflector out of 1ml aluminium ,put mitre cut exhausts on, the deck plate is stainless steel i bent it all myself, added some number plates to the truck and trailer. I moved the trailer axles back and lowered them. My Dad made the bar on the back of the trailer and added the cat logo. I put longer mudflaps on and made up some mudflap weights. Hope you guys like it :)

yes i love the knight and i was just thinking on how to do a bug sheild. i was thinking more of a tinted thin peice of plastic then pinching it in between the hood and grill when tightening it. nice truck

Hey all,

Just thought Id show all you guys what ive done since my last few posts, Have added the cat mudflaps on both truck and trailer which to me look pretty sweet, Will one day be adding another trailer and a dolly so i can hopefully have a road train , This trailer will be the rear one since i have put road train signs into it,

Lucas, (LOUIE 379):D:D

Re: My Knight Hauler

Looks great Lucas, where did you get the mud flaps from?

Buzzy

LOUIE 379 04-08-2013 12:45 AM

Re: My Knight Hauler

Well Buzzy,

All I did was get the cat logo off the world wide web and printed them off in a few different sizes and once i was happy ,chose the right size and just used double sided tape and hey presto, The trailer ones are a bit smaller than whats on the truck,

Lucas (LOUIE 379)

Re: My Knight Hauler

Well a couple of weeks ago it was my birthday, 19 of june to be exact, i got a box trailer and a pole trailer to make a dolly out of so i can nom have a roadtrain, i built the pole trailer first to see what it was like before i raided parts off of it. i made up some rails for the dolly and started from there, once i had the suspension and rear light bar on it had a fair bit of twist to it so i added some cross members to stiffen it up which helped a lot i added the long vehicle sign and mud flaps to the front and back, the drawbar will be made out of brass along with a few other small things

On to the lead trailer, the trailer that you guys have seen will now be at the rear, i got a ringfeeder from RigidRc which is a great piece for what its worth, i moved the axles back and lowered the rear to make it the same as my other trailer, i then made a mounting plate for the ringfeeder and mounted it to the trailer made the rear bar up and all i have to do is make the drawbar and wire it all up:mad:

LOUIE 379 07-02-2013 12:39 AM

Re: My Knight Hauler

I had also got a rear light bar from RigidRc along with lenses for my truck to make it look better, i had to modify the plastic at thr rear of the chassis so the bar could fit in , added another LED to the revese light and put it on, seeing as how i am building a dolly i need to have my name on it so i made up this logo yesterday but im not sure if it will do, what do guys think?:)

regards, Lucas

Nice work Lucas! You laid down a really nice paint job on your truck, and I like the pin stripes too. I've thought about doing a nice aluminum bug deflector for one of my trucks also, and yours looks great. It's nice touch.

Re: My Knight Hauler

well i got the dolly finished over the weekend and was suprised with the result , i was originally going to paint it black to match the truck and trailer chassis' so instead i painted it the same as the truck, the part i was dreading most was all if the wiring it, it is all wired from front to rear, the ring/eye is brass bushed because the pin in the ringfeeder was a smaller diameter to it, i polished up the front bar, made up mudflap weights. the stand is held by chain pretty and much all i have to do is add hub caps and its complete, personally i think i did pretty well for a 17 year old :D:D:D
what do you guys think??

Lucas

What do you guys think???
