Premacon in Da House...

After a year, finally I have received my 960 SME, thought I had better show some pictures and give some details, because I know some of you have questions:
- It's the 960 advanced assembled Model, bought it built because of the cost, wanted to make sure that everything was right, and wanted a good paint job.
-I wanted the Brixl transmitter, not sure if that was a good choice or not, because everything is in German, but I did get the monitor in the cab with it, so we will see how I like it.
-Light Package, special color, heaven duty Chain Ref (whatever that means), couple extra buckets.
-Got the Grabber also, just wasn't sure if I would use the demolition jaw that much so that's why went with the grabber.
-didn't get sound because the newer 1:1 Machines are very quiet didn't think it would make that much difference, but some say I should have got it.

Here's some pic's

Re: Premacon in Da House...

Forgot to mention I bought the wide bucket and the hydraulic quick coupler.

Want to share some of the costs with those of you considering this machine in the USA. So I live in South Dakota and Yvonne at Premacon said that they won't ship with DHL, only with one of there local carriers, because they get damaged, so What they do is strap to pallet so the machine doesn't get flipped over. Cost is as follows: $1185.00 to my doorstep,
Customs fee with the shipping company's fee's $512.00 total shipping $1697.00. If you pick up at a major air port mine was Chicago then you can take out just about all but $100.00 in customs fees, it was to far for me to drive to that airport.

The machine costs will very because of the Euro conversion, but you can find out on the Premacon site how your machine would cost.

Thanks Guy's. Coop, I have a couple dirt piles in the basement set up, so the cold don't matter. Will post once I get my construction company pictures put together.

Re: Premacon in Da House...

One other thing, they dident quality control the machine before they sent it, they glued the cab but didn't clamp the top of the cab very effectively? Not sure how they will handle this one, think the only solution is to send me another cab?

Hello snowman, you can go to the Premacon web-site, log-in and enter whatever you want to get and it will give you the price less VAT depending on where you live.

I might have misunderstood, but do you actually state that if you drove to Chicago you could have saved $1697 - $100 = $1597?) The $1697, is that the total shipping cost from Germany to your doorstep? So DHL was not involved in the shipping at all, or they took care of Germany to Chicago?

Congrats!!! Thanks for sharing shipping cost information. It's something to consider when buying. Looking forward to your review and videos. Is this your first excavator?
Also when you get a chance, can you weigh it with standard bucket and battery please?

No only on the customs cost of $512.00, there is a whole slew of charges the shipping company charges just to get the shipment out from customs, RIP OFF!! Not a thing a person can do but pay. It. So you would have saved 400 and some $$$ if picked up from airport. So for me yes the Total Shipping cost with customs charges was 1697 to door step.

I will weight it for you Shawn, but it may be a couple days. No this is not my first excavator I have the xl4200, which has been a good machine.

Thanks Joe, I still remember when you welcomed me to the site couple years ago, and you were telling me about the German machines, well you are right, they are quality built... I still don't want to paint them though lol...

The Cab cannot be pinched together because it is already glued, preventing it from being squeezed, and glued.

Hi David, congratulations on your new machine. I think you paid too much for the shipping services. I remember my ScaleART was delivered to my office by UPS 2 months ago for only 600 euro plus $59.87 duty & taxes that I have to pay here in CA. My package is about the size as yours or a bit bigger 47 x 21 x 22 and I have to bring the mini van to drive it home :D

It wouldn't surprise me if I did pay to much... I am about 800 miles from the Chicago Airport, maybe that's why it was more than yours. Mine was delivered Fed ex from the Airport, and they wanted to make sure it was strapped to a pallet so it couldn't get flipped upside down, that probably cost more.

Thank you sir! :)
Also the reason why you paid more in shipping was due to the weight of the excavator and the fact that it was on a pallet.
How much more quiet is it from your 4200xl?

The weird thing is UPS will collect the funds of duty & taxes at the time of delivery and only accept the cashier check. As FedEx, they will bill you later which is nicer :)

I have a ScaleArt shipment coming into the US later this year. Can you elaborate on the duty and taxes? There should not be any duty (the invoice shows: "Tax free supply according to Section 4 Abs. 1a USTG") - toys do not have duty in the US and other countries.
As far as sales tax, you're not supposed to pay sales tax for goods coming in from outside the US.

Are you referring to customs brokerage fees, not tax or duty?

You won't pay the 19%VAT (value added tax) that ppl in Europe do, but there might be state and/or federal tax, plus if UPS or FedEx get's their hands on it, they have their own bullshyt fees they like to tack on... you'll find out for sure when it arrives. ;)
