German FAUN L8AK (1953)

Hello all,

you all know, i have started a lot of buildings. But i will finished them all.

the original:

This truck was started some years ago and i stopped building because i was not able to construct a perfect cab. But now, i think its possible.

The frame is made in aluminum, axles are from Wedico, also the motor and gearbox. Both axles are driven, the wheels are from Veroma, because all of this heavy german trucks had Trilex wheels. But i must change them to combine with the Wedico axles.

For dumping, i will use a screw drive (bought at Bianchi)

Excuse me, but i can't show you the drivers cab, its messed up.

In the next weeks, i will continue this truck with a cab made in copper. And the next pictures will be greater than these.

Best Regards
Wolfgang

Looks great! You've made some really nice models, and I like that you continue with a 'old-timer' theme. That screw drive looks interesting, I'd like to know more about it. Also will the truck be able to dump in different directions?

Thanks.

Of course, it can dump both sides and back.

Some info about the real truck:

Built since 1951, this FAUN was one of the heavy germans like Büssing, Kaelble, MAN and Krupp. Complete weight 16 tons and able to pull a 24ton trailer. The most of them were used for long distance traffic. Motor was built by Deutz, 8 cylinders Diesel and 180 HP.
