Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
I don't get it. Where are the pics of the truck?
|
Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
It's kind of a "Where's Waldo" pics... I see it. :D
Is it really a soon to be released production model or a private guy's creation that works for Tamiya in the showcase? |
Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
Cropped for you Brian.
More pics will more than likely be available as the fair progresses. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y62...pstqjd6el7.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y62...pstygeyd3o.jpg |

Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
Meet the latest addition to the 1/14 scale Tractor Trucks series! This model is based upon that Tamiya classic,
the King Hauler (Item 56301). The King Hauler body is given an overhaul with numerous newly-designed parts inspired by the modern day trend of tractor truck customization. A number of metal and metal-plated resin parts further add to the mood of the model. Its longer frame gives the model proportions reminiscent of show trucks. About the Model • This is a 1/14 scale R/C model assembly kit. Length: 692mm, width: 190mm, height: 300mm. • The realistic, lengthened body features newly-designed parts depicting front and rear bumpers, front grille, air cleaners and muffler covers. Muffler covers are made from metal tubing. • Features a tough ladder frame construction with aluminum side channels and resin cross members. Realistic drivetrain setup sees the front mounted motor powering twin rear axles. • 3-speed transmission can be controlled via 4ch R/C transmitter. • Metal leaf spring dampers with built-in coil springs provide durable suspension. • Newly-designed 1/14 scale driver figure included. • Coupler is included to enable connection with any currently available Tamiya 1/14 scale trailer. • Compatible with the tractor truck option parts (TROP) Items 56511, 56512, 56513, 56515, 56524, 56526 and 56530. Pair with Multi-Function Control Unit MFC-01 (Item 56511) and MFC-03 (Item 56523) for super-realistic LED lights and sounds. |

Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
Very interesting, but myself I would prefer to see another prototypical body rather than some bling added to the old KH. Still cool though.

Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
All I can say is WOW!!!! Someone from Tamiya has been lurking around this forum!!! A lot of parts on that look like copies of some parts in the vendor section. I'm excited for dual square head lights and those turn signals!!!!! Here's is a video link that works. http://youtu.be/GwQiWaXH4yU

Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.

Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
What you did not notice I uploaded the manual as well? LOL
|
Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
Obviously Tamiya has been paying attention to what Americans want on their rigs and good for the hobby.
|
Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
Interesting that the assembly manual says to remove the rear fenders if using the motorized leg support option..... I guess the king pin assy. will not clear the rear fenders?

I like it!
I'll be getting a couple of kits when they become available in Borgfeldt's inventory. ;) |
Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
Thinking better to drill a new hole for the king pin and keep the fenders. The king pin plate on the trailer is large enough for more hole position. Just an idea.
Thanks For the hot News Like it ;o) Bo |
Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
Or just go with a wireless kit like SS-Tronix and then you don't have to worry about that big bulky trailer piece that Tamiya uses for the motorized leg kit.

Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
Hello everyone, I have been absent for quite a while, and after seeing this, I have ambition to build again:bounce::bounce:. I agree with putting on IHB's wheels,;) and I think all in all it's not bad. I WILL be getting one of these when Tower Hobbies gets them in stock.:D:)

Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
Same link, I have posted some gallery images of the new items in Kit. Yes I have one here and going through it.
|
Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
This will be a hard one to get when it is released!
|
Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
Looks OK. I'm just disappointed they're once again remodeling the King Hauler.
After they brought out the Cascadia, I was in hopes they'd broaden the selection and develop other "American" truck icon replicas; perhaps in the near future. Here's a Tamiya Grand Hauler video posted by TRUCKSandDetails. :) - RCT |

https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.n...97a7ba11a8ff42 All-in-all, I think that Tamiya has brought us another WINNING COMBINATION. When it comes to the stores, it won't sit on shelves for long. If you get the opportunity to own one, I suggest you make the purchase. - RCT |
Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
i like it!! as long as they keep the cose to a kings price
the new plastic is cool but not worth much more$$$$ |
Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
my only thing is tamiya put bearing in the kits! they are cheap enough!
but besides that great looking truck. |
Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
I think it's a step in the right direction. Yes it's a restyled KH but I think they did a lot of little things that make it stand apart from a KH. Hopefully they will continue the trend with another classic American looking truck. Is the globeliner going to be overhauled next?

Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
This is great for guys like myself who do living room building. A few custom parts and paint and you have a custom rig. Very nice.
|
Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
My mind is blown......has someone at the Tamiya Corporation actually listened to customer feedback back or build trends on there product.:jaw::eek:
|
Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
Sure they see our custom rigs being sold for 2k and figure an off the shelf for 800 is a steel....
|
Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
I think its awesome that Tamiya has released this truck. definatley a more cost effective way to own a customized truck.
|
Re: You can stop building trucks now, Tamiya Grand Hauler.
Check out the very end of this video. Looks as if Tamiya is doing the older style unimog body. Looks really cool.
