Mercedes Actros 2558 6x2

I started a Mercedes build for about a month ago, that old SK from Tamiya is a little to old for my taste so i bought the Actros cab from RigidRC.

Started with the chassi, just a small euro version with 2.90m/9.5ft (1:1 scale) in wheelbase.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...2/P6143683.jpg

Got to have some parts.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...2/P6143675.jpg

Fenders and sideskirts is all in one piece made of styrene.

Light is very important, 455 LED's from LED-Switch.

This week the cab came in, it is better then i have expacted.

Biggest miss is this "frontplate" that is a bit straight.

Lover front,

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...2/P7063702.jpg

that i cut some more holes in.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...2/P7073709.jpg

A little paint is nice.

Some aluminium parts was in the kit. Can't figure what the big "L-pieces" is for?

Re: Mercedes Actros 2558 6x2

The cab cost 370 Euro.
http://www.rigidrc.com/shop/option-p...s-mp3-kit.html

I also think its to the cab but i can't figure out where to put them, there isn't any obvious place for them i am really confused right now ;)

Well i think i just make my own mount of the cab, probably much less head scratching :)

Lovin this build Actros, looking great already. That's a really mean looking cab, much more modern than the old Tamiya one.

I'm kinda assuming he may have a little fear of the dark? The truck does look great though.

No it isn't easy, but compared to the other one i built it is. A 4-axle T-cab Scania dumptruck with crane, what a pain in the... that is :(

Anyway this one is planed to be finished next weekend, dont now how but thats the plan  I'm going to a truckmeet weekend after so it better be done ;)

Re: Mercedes Actros 2558 6x2

It's been a while since I did anything with this, couldent decide how i want it.
After a lot of thinking i decide to make the frame longer, made it to a 6x4 and put a 12V TruckPuller motor in it so i can run it on 3S LiPo :D

Re: Mercedes Actros 2558 6x2

So finally time for a real update on this truck. I decided to make it a light heavy hauler.

First is the cab mount, used the parts from the MAN TGX.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...ps974efcd9.jpg

Made an adapter for the bumper, three pieces of 5mm/0.2in styrene and it got into right position.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...psd16959de.jpg

So here is the cab on it's right place with the right parts for the first time.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...psa875fdb8.jpg

Holder for beacon ramp.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4011c02e.jpg

With paint on it.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1e66bd27.jpg

On it's place again.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0c0e25cb.jpg

Fenders of aluminium.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8ceee48a.jpg

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...ps611fc238.jpg

Electronics and battery boxes on both sides.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...ps86f4ac65.jpg

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...pse734b81c.jpg

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...psc3ee4108.jpg

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...ps06c7a37f.jpg

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...pscb37342a.jpg

Got to have a couple of stacks on the back of the cab.

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...ps92406abd.jpg

http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9eca460f.jpg

Cab masked up for a little bit yellow, not the best work but it will do :)
